To play songs on Genshin Impact’s Windsong Lyre, use a chart made for your input device, then follow its notation key: charts may show keyboard letters, note names, sheet music, or a visual map. Community references report a limited range of 21 natural-note pitches from C3 to B5, so familiar melodies may need to be adapted rather than reproduced exactly.
What the Windsong Lyre can play
Community references describe the Windsong Lyre as covering C3 through B5, with no sharps or flats—21 notes in a C-major scale. These are reported details, not a current official specification; the official instrument documentation was not available among the sources cited here. A chart that calls for pitches outside this range, or for sharps and flats, may need an arrangement that shifts or simplifies those notes.
The range helps explain why a lyre version of a song may sound different from its recording. A 2021 PC guide describes its main-theme arrangement as an adaptation because the instrument’s available pitches do not reproduce the original fully.
Choose a chart for your device and notation
Charts are not automatically interchangeable: a keyboard-letter sequence is not the same thing as note names or controller labels. Check the in-game control display for the bindings available on your platform before using a chart. A community reference reports distinct PC keyboard, mobile, and PlayStation controls, but the sources here do not establish a current official cross-platform mapping. The Windsong Lyre community reference offers a general overview; a controller chart is available as a separate community example, whose creator cautions that it may not be perfect: controller guide.

- Keyboard letters: follow the letter keys shown in a PC chart and confirm that its keyboard layout matches the controls displayed in your game.
- Note names or sheet notation: identify the pitches, then use a chart’s key or mapping to translate them into the controls you can press.
- Controller labels or visual maps: use charts made for your controller and treat creator-provided caveats as part of the instructions.
How to read a keyboard-and-sheet chart
A 2021 PC arrangement guide pairs music notation with keyboard keys and beats. Its notation key says to read from left to right; notes aligned vertically are played together, while notes placed closer together horizontally are played in quicker succession. The keyboard letters beneath the notes show which keys to press. Read that guide’s own key before playing, since conventions can differ between charts: PC arrangement guide.
- Find the chart’s device and notation key.
- Match each printed key or pitch to the control shown in the chart or in-game display.
- Follow the melody from left to right, pressing vertically aligned notes at the same time where the chart indicates a chord.
- Use the spacing or beat markings to judge timing; do not assume every chart uses the same rhythm notation.

Main-theme arrangement
The 2021 PC guide combines a keyboard map, beats, and sheet-style notation for a main-theme arrangement. Its author presents the result as an adaptation, not a fully faithful rendering; the reported range and available pitches constrain what can be represented: PC arrangement guide.
Controller chart
A controller-specific chart can make the mapping easier when you are not using a keyboard. Its creator says the guide may not be perfect, so treat it as a starting point rather than an authoritative score: controller guide.
