What happens in Ghost of Yōtei’s hot-springs scenes?
Ghost of Yōtei is a standalone PS5 game set in 1600s rural Japan, following Atsu. Sucker Punch says it is not a direct story sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, though the newer game brings back familiar activities such as bathing in hot springs. GamesRadar describes Atsu entering a spring nude, viewed from behind, and says the scene is close in presentation to Jin’s earlier hot-spring moments. That is the outlet’s description of the scenes, rather than a claim that every player sees them the same way. GamesRadar’s report also gathered selected online responses to the depiction.
Are players really split over the scenes?
The available examples show varied reactions, not a measured division among Ghost of Yōtei players. GamesRadar surfaced comments approving of the matter-of-fact treatment, as well as playful comparisons that favored Jin. Those examples illustrate different tones—serious commentary about the depiction and jokes about the characters’ appearances—but they do not establish how common either response is.

No player-attitude poll or named statistic is available in these cited reports. It is therefore more accurate to say the scenes have prompted a mix of reactions in the comments GamesRadar highlighted than to claim the player base is broadly split.
What do hot springs do in the game?

Some players have asked whether the instructions posted at spring locations offer a benefit beyond the Health increase. In a Reddit discussion, one player asked, “Does anybody know what these do exactly?” and “Is there any benefit to doing these rather than just jumping in the hot spring for the health boost?” Replies describe animals appearing after some activities, but those are player reports, not details confirmed in PlayStation’s official feature description. The discussion is available in the Reddit thread about messages by the hot springs.
