To use your existing mobile or PC Genshin Impact save on PlayStation, sign in on a PSN account that has never launched the game, then link the email for your existing HoYoverse Account from the first-launch prompt. If the PSN account already has Genshin progress, use the in-game User Center linking route instead. In either case, the accounts must use the same server. HoYoverse ended PS4 update support beginning February 25, 2026, so PS5 or another supported platform is the practical choice for continued play.
How Genshin Impact cross-save works
Cross-save links a PSN account with a HoYoverse Account so they can share progress and game data. It does not replace the platform-specific sign-in: PlayStation uses the linked PSN account, while mobile and PC use the HoYoverse Account or a supported third-party login. Choose the linking route based on where your save already exists and whether that PSN account has launched Genshin Impact before.

How to link a mobile or PC save to PS5
- Check your existing account. Make sure your mobile or PC progress is attached to a HoYoverse Account and that you can access its email.
- Use a PSN account that has never opened Genshin Impact. The first-launch linking flow is the documented route for bringing existing mobile or PC progress to PlayStation.
- Start the game on PlayStation. After accepting the terms, follow the first-launch pop-up and enter the email associated with your existing HoYoverse Account. Do not skip the prompt if you want to link that existing progress.
- Confirm the server matches. The PlayStation and HoYoverse progress must be on the same server to synchronize.
HoYoverse’s cross-save notice warns that skipping the prompt registers a separate HoYoverse Account on that PSN account. Under the documented process, an email already linked to another HoYoverse Account cannot then be used for that PSN account. If you skipped it, contact HoYoverse support for account-specific help rather than creating conflicting links.

How to link PlayStation progress to mobile or PC
- On the PlayStation account that has your Genshin progress, open Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account.
- Link an email address that is not already associated with a HoYoverse Account, as specified in HoYoverse’s cross-save notice.
- On mobile or PC, sign in with the HoYoverse Account associated with that linked email and select the same server as the PlayStation save.
Server and PSN region requirements
Cross-save does not combine progress across servers. The official notice identifies America, Europe, and Asia progress as shareable with the corresponding PSN server; it says TW/HK/MO progress is not supported for PSN cross-save. Check HoYoverse’s server guidance before linking.
For PlayStation, the PSN account’s region determines its server mapping; the console’s physical location alone does not. HoYoverse’s PlayStation 4 FAQ cautions that a PSN region may not be switchable, so verify the region of the actual PSN account you plan to use.

What if you already opened Genshin on your PSN account?
If that PSN account already has a separate Genshin save, the mobile/PC first-launch flow no longer applies. HoYoverse’s documented path for an existing PlayStation save is to use Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account with an email that is not already associated with a HoYoverse Account. The published FAQ also describes restrictions on changing or unlinking account connections; because those details may change, check current HoYoverse support before linking if you may need to change the connection later.
PS4 status: cross-save is not the same as update support
HoYoverse announced that PS4 installations would stop receiving update patches and that PS4 purchases would be removed from the PlayStation Store and in-game shop beginning February 25, 2026. The company says these changes do not affect account progress and recommends that PS4 players move to PS5 or another supported platform to continue playing. This announcement concerns PS4; it does not change the account-linking steps. Read the PS4 service notice for the announcement.

Genesis Crystals and Primogems across platforms
HoYoverse updated its notice after Version 5.8 maintenance: Genesis Crystals purchased on PC or mobile and Genesis Crystals obtained on PlayStation are linked for the same account. Primogems from that account are displayed across iOS, Android, PC, and PlayStation.
