The boss is tied to the Fault Hunting side mission and is reported to drop two dedicated legendaries: Oscar Mike, an assault rifle, and Recursive, a grenade. After completing the mission, return to the arena and use Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine to replay the fight.
Where to find Genone
Genone’s arena is in a hidden facility beneath The Yawning Yard, in Lopside, Carcadia Burn. The encounter is associated with the Fault Hunting side mission. The Game8 location and drops guide and Lootlemon’s Genone page place the boss at The Yawning Yard; PowerPyx’s mission walkthrough gives the route into the area.
- Pick up Fault Hunting when it becomes available. Its starting points are reported in Ruined Sumplands; follow the active mission objectives through the cave and facility, including the power-routing steps.
- When the objective sends you to Lopside, head toward Makeshift Chalet safehouse.
- Descend the cliffs on the west side of the nearby area to reach the cave entrance, then follow the route into the facility and to Genone’s arena.
Guides differ in how they describe when Fault Hunting becomes available: PowerPyx reports a possible start after Main Mission 7 and another during Main Mission 9 after restoring power to Carcadia town. Use the in-game quest board and active objective line rather than relying on a single mission-number gate.
What Genone drops
Game8 lists two dedicated legendary rewards for Genone. The guides do not establish that either item is guaranteed on a given kill.

| Item | Type | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Oscar Mike | Legendary Daedalus assault rifle | Reported Genone drop. The sources do not support a universal damage ranking or build recommendation. |
| Recursive | Legendary grenade (ordnance) | Reported Genone drop. Its performance depends on the item roll and your build. |
Lootlemon’s fan-maintained database, updated February 26, 2026, lists a 9% rate for each item, a bonus chance of 2% multiplied by UVH, and separate Big Encore rates of 30%. These are database figures, not official Gearbox probabilities; the displayed modifiers should not be treated as a guaranteed current-version rate. See Lootlemon’s listing for its figures.
How to farm Genone
- Complete Fault Hunting so you can return to the boss area.
- Go back to the Yawning Yard facility and find Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine near the arena.
- Pay at the machine to start a rematch, defeat Genone, and check the drops for Oscar Mike or Recursive.
- Repeat the rematch for further attempts. The available guides do not establish a guaranteed drop or a fixed number of runs.
Game8 and AllThings.how’s Genone guide describe the Big Encore Machine as the replay method after the mission is complete.
