The ranking below comes from a guide published May 10, 2026, which identifies its placements as an April 2026 snapshot. It weighs performance across team compositions, content conditions, and build quality; it is not a guarantee that every account will see the same results. The accessible tier list names characters in S, A, and B, but does not enumerate its C-tier roster.

Why a tier can change by game mode
There is no single damage profile that is best for every endgame activity. Prydwen’s mode-focused methodology explains that Memory of Chaos tends to reward blast and single-target damage, though area damage can be valuable against some bosses. Pure Fiction favors AoE, then blast, and has little use for single-target damage. Apocalyptic Shadow places more weight on single-target performance and Break potential. These are useful comparisons, not current October 2026 placements: Prydwen’s list was last updated May 13, 2026.
Prydwen averages performance by mode using its own testing, mode data, and community feedback. Its character ratings are compared within role, so a support’s rating should not be read as a direct comparison with a DPS rating. It also says, “Characters are ordered alphabetically within a tier.” In that list, the display order within a bracket is not a ranking.

How to use the list for your account
Match the character to the content
Start with the mode and the encounter: how many enemies are present, whether they are vulnerable to Break strategies, and whether a single target or groups need to be cleared quickly. A character can be an excellent fit for one activity and less useful in another.
Check role and team archetype
Consider whether the character is a main damage dealer, a supporting damage dealer, an amplifier, or a sustain unit, then check whether your roster can complete the intended team. The April guide highlights Break, damage-over-time (DoT), crit hypercarry, and follow-up-attack teams as recurring archetypes. Its examples are broad team structures, not universal lineups; actual synergy depends on the characters you own.

Account for investment and build requirements
Relics, Light Cones, Traces, Eidolons, speed, and action economy can all change how a character performs. A high-tier DPS may underdeliver without suitable teammates, equipment, and sustain. Conversely, a lower-tier character can still contribute in a team and encounter that suit them.
Prydwen’s ratings use a specialized baseline: manual play, optimal teams, level 80, major Traces unlocked and skills at level 10, a level-80 best-in-slot four- or five-star Light Cone at S1, optimized five-star gear with 24 desired substats out of 54, E0 five-star characters, and E0/E6 four-star characters. Those are methodology assumptions, not a promise about typical accounts; a new or free-to-play player may have substantially different resources.

Building teams as your roster grows
For early-to-mid progression, the April guide recommends centering one team on a carry and keeping a flexible second damage dealer available for weakness coverage. Once those clears are consistent, developing a second team archetype can add options. For a new account, the guide suggests considering a broadly useful support and reliable sustain before committing to a preferred DPS core. That is general advice, not a pull-value calculation for an unknown roster.
