The update arrived while the game was still in Early Access and preparing for its 1.0 launch; that launch has since happened, on September 25, 2025.
What the hidden aspects are
The headline’s “secret form” refers to what Supergiant calls a Hidden Aspect. In its June 17, 2025 announcement, the studio described the feature this way: “Each main weapon has an all-new fighting style to unlock.” The announcement presents hidden aspects as alternate ways to fight with the main Nocturnal Arms, rather than simply a visual change.
Supergiant’s announcement is a feature summary, not a weapon-by-weapon guide. It does not list every aspect’s name, unlock conditions, or current balance details, so those specifics should not be inferred from the summary. Read Supergiant’s The Unseen Update announcement.
What else The Unseen Update added
Supergiant called The Unseen Update its third major update, focused on core combat, Guardian encounters, and character relationships. Alongside the hidden aspects, its feature list highlighted a revamped Umbral Flames fighting style, Godsent Hexes, the Vow of Rivals, optional character bonds and story events, new Warden encounters, artwork, and music.

Hades II is no longer approaching 1.0
When Supergiant announced the update in June 2025, it said the game was entering the final phase of development and still needed its true ending and finishing touches: “We’re heading into the final phase of Hades II development, which involves adding the story’s true ending and other finishing touches.” That was the status at the time, not the current release status. Supergiant subsequently released Hades II version 1.0 on September 25, 2025, for Steam, Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. See Supergiant’s v1.0 release announcement.

As of Supergiant’s FAQ updated April 14, 2026, Hades II is available on Steam, Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Platform availability can change, so check the studio’s current Hades II FAQ for the latest details.

A physical retail edition is available for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Supergiant says the game card in the package contains both versions, and that the package includes a 32-page character compendium, reversible cover slip, and soundtrack download code. Nintendo lists the Switch 2 physical edition with a November 20, 2025 release date. Supergiant’s April 14, 2026 FAQ said there were no plans at that time for physical PlayStation or Xbox editions.
