When did Hades II launch, and what is the game?
Supergiant Games released Hades II version 1.0 on September 25, 2025, ending its Early Access period. The full release added the true ending, new events for the game’s voiced characters, additional music and Fated List prophecies, late-game unlockables, and other finishing touches. Supergiant’s v1.0 announcement lists the launch platforms as Switch 2, Switch, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
You play as Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld, in a rogue-like dungeon crawler. Across repeated runs, she uses dark sorcery to fight the Titan of Time; setbacks and accomplishments move the story forward while opening up locations, challenges, upgrades, and character interactions.
Which platforms can you play Hades II on now?
As of October 8, 2026, Hades II is available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The first four platforms were part of the September 2025 v1.0 launch. Supergiant later announced the PlayStation and Xbox versions for April 14, 2026. Supergiant’s blog includes that later platform announcement.

How do the Switch 2 and original Switch versions differ?
Supergiant’s September 12, 2025 announcement gave these mode-specific performance targets for the Nintendo versions:
Rank #2
- Brand New in box. The product ships with all relevant accessories
| Version and mode | Announced target |
|---|---|
| Switch 2, TV Mode | Up to 120 frames per second at 1080p |
| Switch 2, handheld | 60 frames per second at 1080p |
| Original Switch, TV and handheld | 60 frames per second at 720p |
These are the launch announcement’s mode-specific figures, not a promise that every display will show the same output. The current Hades II FAQ separately says the Switch 2 Edition supports 120 Hz and up to upscaled 4K resolution on a compatible display. That broader output description is distinct from the announcement’s 1080p frame-rate targets.
If you own both a Switch and a Switch 2, Supergiant said Switch-edition owners can download the Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack for free to unlock the Switch 2 features. Follow the game’s store listing and the FAQ for the current installation steps.

Cross-saves are supported between Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and between Steam and the Epic Games Store. Nintendo’s launch announcement also described PC cross-save compatibility. The official FAQ says Switch and Switch 2 save data is compatible and can be transferred using Local Communication or a microSD Express card; it also provides troubleshooting steps for PC-console cross-save conflicts.
Cross-save does not mean every platform shares a single save automatically. Check the FAQ’s current instructions for the relevant platform pairing and conflict-resolution steps before switching devices.

What is included in the Hades II physical edition?
Supergiant says a retail game card is available for both Switch 2 and the original Switch. A single card contains the game for either console. The package includes a full-color 32-page Character Compendium, a reversible cover slip, and a download code for the original soundtrack, which Supergiant describes as nearly four hours of music. See the developer’s blog updates for the physical-edition announcement and details.
Supergiant initially announced November 20, 2025, as the retail edition’s release date and listed a North American price of $49.99 at that time. That is a historical launch price, not a current quote; check local retailers for today’s price and availability.
