GOG Dreamlist lets players vote for older games they want on GOG and submit titles that are missing. Those votes help GOG show publishers and other rights holders that demand exists, but they do not guarantee a release, reveal private negotiations, or predict a launch date.
What is GOG Dreamlist?
Dreamlist is GOG’s community tool for discovering and voting for games players want revived or added to the storefront. GOG presents the votes as evidence of audience interest that can inform its own efforts and discussions with intellectual-property owners.

It is not simply a personal reminder list: its purpose includes making collective demand visible. The January 2025 redesign replaced GOG’s Community Wishlist presentation with a refreshed interface for browsing requested games and seeing what other players want. At launch, it also featured an “Our Pick” label for titles GOG staff wanted brought to modern systems; Ars Technica cited Black & White and Freelancer as examples. Those are launch-era details, so the live page is the best place to check which controls and labels are currently shown.
How do I vote or add a game?
Vote for a listed game
- Open GOG Dreamlist and browse or search for the game you want.
- Open its entry and use the voting control on the page.
- Use the “My votes” area to find titles you have voted for, if that area is available in the current interface.
GOG says you may vote for multiple games, but you can vote only once for each game.

Submit a missing game
- Go to the Dreamlist page and choose its add-a-game option.
- Enter the missing title in the submission form and follow the on-screen instructions.
The page’s current controls may change as GOG updates the feature; follow the labels displayed there if they differ from these descriptions.
Does a high vote total mean a game will return sooner?
No. GOG says a high number of votes influences GOG and IP owners, but it cannot guarantee that every highly voted game will be released. A vote count is a signal of interest, not a release threshold or schedule.

Ars Technica reported on January 29, 2025 that Dino Crisis had about 5,000 votes and Dino Crisis 2 about 3,500. The report said GOG credited community interest as one factor in keeping discussions with Capcom moving. These were approximate totals at the time of publication, not current counts, minimum targets, or proof that votes alone caused a release.
Why can a popular game still be difficult to bring back?
Votes cannot settle ownership questions or replace the work needed to make a game available. Rights may be split among companies, and publishers or developers may need to approve or prepare a release. GOG interviews have also described cases where older console games lack a native PC version, requiring a publisher or developer to create or adapt one.

Black & White illustrates why a high-profile request may face obstacles: Ars Technica reported in January 2025 that Microsoft had acquired Lionhead’s intellectual property and assets while Electronic Arts retained publishing rights to the games, and that the rights holders had not aligned at that time. That is historical reporting, not an update on the companies’ current legal position.
Can I see a game’s status or an expected release date?
GOG says it cannot disclose a game’s business status before release because of the complexity of the process and the possible effect on its efforts. Dreamlist therefore should not be treated as a tracker of private negotiations or as a source of release estimates. GOG’s FAQ says it is working on a feature to help users track voted-for games once they are released; that is a stated plan, not confirmation that the feature has been delivered.

How Dreamlist differs from GOG’s preservation promise
GOG describes games on its store as DRM-free and says they can be downloaded and backed up. That applies to games that are available on GOG. Voting for an unavailable title is a way to signal interest; it does not itself preserve the game, make a copy accessible, or ensure it will return.
