Guild of Guardians is a free-to-play mobile squad RPG for iOS and Android, launched worldwide on May 15, 2024. Its main loop is building a team of Guardians and taking them into roguelite dungeons; blockchain features add optional NFT-based asset ownership rather than defining the basic premise of the game.
What is Guild of Guardians?
Guild of Guardians is a mobile role-playing game built around assembling a squad and fighting through dungeons. Players choose Guardians with different abilities and bring a team into roguelite encounters. The official launch description also named an Endless Leaderboard, Arena, and Boss Rush competitions for the game’s first launch chapter; those are launch-era features, not confirmation of what is active now. Where can you play it?
The game launched worldwide on May 15, 2024, as a free download for iOS and Android. Apple and Google Play listings surfaced in October 2026 describe it as a mobile game and show in-app purchases. How does the gameplay work?
The core idea is to build a team whose members bring different roles and abilities, then take that squad into dungeon runs. The official overview dated May 13, 2024 reported more than 200 Guardians and identified six classes:

That roster count is a dated launch-era figure, not a verified current total. The available descriptions establish squad selection and roguelite dungeon combat, but do not provide enough current detail to characterize the present balance, progression systems, or event rotation.
What does “Web3 hybrid” mean?
Guild of Guardians combines a conventional mobile RPG with optional blockchain features. Its May 2024 launch announcement describes integration with Immutable Passport and Immutable zkEVM, with eligible in-game assets represented as NFTs. The official whitepaper update discusses asset ownership and trading alongside crafting, equipment, and token utility. The store listings also describe Web3 or NFT functionality as optional.

In practical terms, the RPG is the game; NFTs are an additional asset-ownership layer. The cited descriptions do not establish that crypto is required to play the core game. They also are not a promise that an asset will always be tradable, have buyers, or retain value. Check current official guidance before relying on any particular wallet, marketplace, or token feature.
Is it free, and does it involve purchases?
The launch announcement called the download free to play, while both store listings indicate in-app purchases. “Free to download” therefore does not mean that every item or feature is free. The sources cited here do not specify current purchase prices or establish that NFT ownership is necessary for progression.

What should players know about launch-era promotions?
The May 2024 launch announcement advertised up to US$1 million worth of $GOG prizes for a launch leaderboard event. That was a historical promotion, not a current reward offer. Do not treat it as evidence of an active event or an ongoing way to earn tokens.
