Hades II launched in full (version 1.0) on September 25, 2025. It first became playable in Early Access on May 6, 2024; the later full launch and the original Early Access debut are different dates. The game initially arrived on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions following on April 14, 2026.

When did Hades II launch?

Supergiant Games released Hades II version 1.0 on September 25, 2025. The studio announced that date on September 12, 2025. The game’s earlier Early Access period began May 6, 2024, so September 25, 2025 is the date to use for its full launch, not its first availability.

Supergiant described version 1.0 as including the story’s true ending, new events for the voiced cast, additional music, Fated List prophecies, late-game unlockables, and finishing touches. These are the developer’s descriptions of the launch update.

Which platforms can you play Hades II on?

As of the official FAQ’s 2026 version, Hades II is listed for Steam, Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The first four platforms launched with version 1.0; PlayStation and Xbox versions followed on April 14, 2026.

Supergiant’s worldwide physical Nintendo retail edition launched November 20, 2025. The package is branded for Switch 2, but its game card also works on the original Nintendo Switch. Its contents are a full-color 32-page Character Compendium, a reversible cover slip, and a download code for the official soundtrack; there is no physical soundtrack disc.

Supergiant initially announced a North American price of $49.99 for the physical edition. That was the stated launch price, not a current price; check the retailer’s live listing for availability and pricing. The physical-edition announcement has the package details.

How does cross-save work?

Cross-saves are supported between Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and between Steam and Epic Games Store. Supergiant also describes transfers between PC/Mac and Nintendo through an in-game menu. The FAQ says other version combinations are not supported because of technical limitations, so do not assume a save can move between every platform family. Check the official FAQ for the current transfer details.

Which version should you choose?

  • Already own a PC: Steam and Epic Games Store were both available at the full launch. Choose between them based on your preferred storefront, keeping in mind that cross-save support is limited to the Steam/Epic pairing and the specified Nintendo transfers.
  • Want handheld play or Nintendo physical ownership: The Nintendo versions launched with version 1.0. The retail card works on both Switch 2 and original Switch and includes the printed compendium and soundtrack download code.
  • Prefer PlayStation or Xbox: Those versions launched later, on April 14, 2026. Supergiant reports 120 fps and bonus content and quality-of-life improvements for these releases.

The physical Nintendo package supplies a download code rather than a disc. See the official soundtrack announcement for the studio’s description.
