Halo: Campaign Evolved, the ground-up remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, launched on July 28, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam. It does have multiplayer: the campaign supports online co-op for up to four players, plus two-player split-screen on consoles. Whether competitive PvP is included is not established by the official details cited here.
What is the Halo 1 remake?
Halo: Campaign Evolved remakes the campaign from the original Halo: Combat Evolved. It is not described as a remake of the original game’s competitive multiplayer component. The project updates the visuals, cinematics, weapons, vehicles, and gameplay, and adds three new prequel missions, according to the official Halo announcement.
The remake was built in Unreal Engine 5. In an October 24, 2025 Xbox Wire feature, Executive Producer Damon Conn said the campaign focus lets the team concentrate on capturing the original’s atmosphere, tone, and emotional impact.
Does Halo: Campaign Evolved have multiplayer?
Yes. Official descriptions confirm multiplayer campaign co-op. The supported setup depends on platform:

The co-op details are listed by Halo’s Story Reveal and the Xbox Wire feature; the Xbox game description also lists solo play and co-op options.
Is competitive multiplayer confirmed?
The official material cited above focuses on the campaign and confirms co-op, but does not explicitly state whether competitive player-versus-player modes are included or excluded. So “without multiplayer” is inaccurate if it means no multiplayer of any kind; campaign co-op is confirmed. If the question is specifically about PvP, the available official descriptions do not settle it.

When did it release, and where can you play?
Halo: Campaign Evolved launched July 28, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam. The official Story Reveal listed early access beginning July 23, 2026. No platform-specific performance comparison is established by the announcements cited here.

Yes. The official announcement lists Xbox Series X and PS5 Collector’s Editions with a game disc and a Premium Edition upgrade voucher. Listed collectibles include a SteelBook, a 12-inch Master Chief statue by Dark Horse, an LED Cortana data-chip replica, three 11-by-17-inch concept-art prints, and a physical manual modeled on the original. The announcement describes supply as limited, but does not establish current stock at any retailer.
