An Offline or Transitioning status, multiplayer errors, or Battle Pass menus failing too can point to a service or connection issue—but a stuck customization screen alone does not identify the cause. Check Halo and platform service notices, then work through the relevant local checks below.
Check Halo Infinite and platform service status first
When several online features fail together, check Halo Support’s network outage updates and service notices for the platform you use: Xbox or Steam. Halo Support says an outage can affect Battle Pass and in-game menus, or show up as Offline or Transitioning status and multiplayer connection errors. It also notes that an issue can stem from a wider Xbox or Steam service disruption.
Outage status can change quickly, so use the official updates rather than assuming that a loading problem is a local fault. Halo Support gives a general estimate of 15 to 30 minutes for outages, with more severe ones sometimes lasting over an hour; that is guidance, not a prediction for a particular incident.
Check your connection and platform
If no relevant service issue is reported, confirm that your home internet connection is working. Then follow the network troubleshooting guidance for your platform—Windows, Xbox, or Steam—linked from Halo Support’s outage article. The appropriate steps differ by platform, so use the instructions for the device or launcher you actually play on.

Note whether the problem is limited to one customization submenu or affects other online menus as well. Also check the game’s network state: an Offline or Transitioning indicator, or a multiplayer error, is useful context when deciding whether the problem is broader than Armor Hall.
Restart if you launched the game offline
If you started Halo Infinite while offline and then connected to the internet while still at the main menu, Halo Support’s known-issues article says to restart the game to resolve an inability to play online. This workaround applies to that sequence; it is not established as a universal fix for every customization loading problem.

Tell a stuck new-item indicator apart from a blocked menu
A menu that opens but keeps showing a new-item indicator is a different issue from Customize or Armor Hall failing to open. Halo Support’s known-issues article, updated November 18, 2025, documents a stale indicator in the Customize tab. Its suggested workarounds are to enter and back out of a customization submenu, or complete a multiplayer match. Those steps address the indicator, not a menu that remains stuck loading.
Allow for an older loading-delay issue only with context
In its Season 2-era patch notes, Halo Support said customization menus could take up to three minutes to load. For delays beyond that, the 2022-era guidance suggested completing an online multiplayer match or, on PC, lowering Maximum Frame Rate. This is historical advice tied to older game context, not a verified current benchmark or universal fix. The available current official guidance does not establish a single repair sequence for every customization loading failure.

Report a persistent problem to Halo Support
If service notices show no active issue and your connection checks out, submit a ticket through Halo Support’s Halo Infinite support page. Include the exact error text and describe which menus fail, whether the game shows Online, Offline, or Transitioning, your platform (Xbox, Steam, or Windows/Xbox app), and whether you launched the game offline or resumed it after connecting. If the report concerns a match, Halo Support’s known-issues article asks for relevant details such as map, mode, and approximate time.
Halo Support also publishes patch notes, including the Operation: Infinite update notes; check official notices for any issue-specific guidance rather than treating unrelated fixes as a remedy for a stuck customization menu.
