To complete The Hermit mystery in Hell Is Us, find the Hermit in Acasa Marshes, bring him the Zoom Lens from a destroyed photography shop in Talju, then use the photo on his board to solve the four-pedestal puzzle south of his shack. Where to find the Hermit
Look for the Hermit’s shack on the eastern side of Acasa Marshes, near a four-obelisk puzzle area. The landmarks are more dependable than trying to reconcile different map directions: one walkthrough routes you across the bridge northeast of the Timeloop to an intersection, then east toward the obelisks; another describes the Hermit as near a highway and tunnel when approaching from Jova Village. Use the shack and nearby obelisks as your destination clues. GameSpot’s route and landmarks and the Gamer Guides mystery entry describe the area from different starting points.

How to get the Zoom Lens
- Travel to Talju and locate the destroyed photography shop.
- Interact with the shop’s broken window to pick up the Zoom Lens key item.
- Return to the Hermit in Acasa Marshes and give him the lens.
The lens is an in-game quest item. After handing it over, refresh the map to have additional photographs appear on the Hermit’s photo board, as described in the Gamer Guides walkthrough.
How to solve the four-pedestal puzzle
The Lymbic puzzle is south of the Hermit’s hut. The center photograph on his board shows the arrangement to reproduce. Rotate the four pedestals until their symbols match the photograph, using the markings on the ground to judge their orientation.

A directional description can be confusing if you approach the puzzle from a different viewing angle. GameSpot describes the symbols relative to a marked stone face: down-and-up arrows at the top, an upward-pointing bow-and-arrow on the left, a circle or inverted-omega-like symbol at the bottom, and four spikes on the right. Treat those positions as a reference, not a substitute for matching the in-world photo and ground marks.
