Yes. Roblox acquired Byfron Technologies in October 2022 and integrated its anti-cheat software, Hyperion, with the 64-bit Windows Roblox Player during the 2023 rollout. Byfron is the company; Hyperion is the name of its protection software. The available public statements establish Windows Player use, not a current deployment list for every Roblox platform.
What are Byfron and Hyperion?
Byfron Technologies is the security company Roblox acquired. Hyperion is the name Byfron used for its anti-cheat security software. That distinction matters: Roblox did not add a separate player-facing app called “Byfron.”
Roblox announced on October 11, 2022 that Byfron was joining the company as part of an effort to expand its anti-cheat capabilities. The announcement discussed client- and server-side anti-cheat, alt-account detection and developer tools as areas of security work; it described plans, not proof that every proposed feature was subsequently released. Roblox’s announcement and its 2023 SEC filing confirm the company acquisition on October 11, 2022.
When did Roblox start using Hyperion?
Public Roblox staff comments place Hyperion in the client during the 2023 move to the 64-bit Windows Player. In a May 1, 2023 Developer Forum reply, Roblox staff member Bitdancer said Hyperion had terminated a client process after detecting what Roblox calls “badware.” Two days later, Bitdancer said the 64-bit client rollout was almost complete. Together, these comments support the conclusion that Hyperion was operating in the Windows Roblox Player during that rollout. May 1 Hyperion discussion; May 3 rollout comment.

Does that mean Byfron prevents all cheating?
No. Roblox described the integration as a way to expand security and anti-cheat capabilities; the cited announcements and staff comments do not establish that cheating was eliminated. Hyperion is client protection, not a guarantee that every exploit or unauthorized tool will be stopped.
Bitdancer wrote on May 1, 2023: “Roblox defines Badware as any process that tries to access the client process with write access, not just cheat software.” In context, that is Roblox’s definition of the term “badware”; it does not mean every process detected under that definition is malware.

Which Roblox platforms have Hyperion?
The public evidence cited here supports Hyperion operating in the 64-bit Windows Roblox Player during the 2023 rollout. It does not establish the current deployment status on mobile, console, Roblox Studio, or every other client. Avoid treating the Windows rollout as confirmation of platform-wide availability.
