The organizer’s homepage identifies this as the sixth edition and scheduled the ceremony for May 21, 2026, at John Bassett Theatre in Toronto. It describes three pillars—developers, creators and esports—and names Best Buy Canada and JBL Quantum among its partners. Since that scheduled date has passed, this is a record of nominees rather than an upcoming-event guide.
A report published March 31, 2026, says the nominees were revealed that day and identifies Victor Lucas as the recipient of the Game Changer Award. The same report quotes Canadian Game Awards Executive Producer Carl-Edwin Michel on Fan Choice: “By partnering with ESAC, we are giving that community a direct voice in celebrating the games that moved them this year.” This quote is attributed to Michel by iPhone in Canada’s March 31 report, rather than the organizer’s nominee page.
