You can’t evolve Eevee into Kira: Kira is the nickname trick for evolving Eevee into Sylveon in Pokémon GO. Rename Eevee Kira, then check the Evolve button for a Sylveon preview before you spend Candy. The trick is reported to work once per account; if you’ve already used it, the usual route is to earn 70 Buddy Hearts with Eevee first.
Use the Kira nickname trick
- Open Eevee’s Pokémon summary in Pokémon GO and rename it Kira.
- Check the Evolve button. Continue only if its preview shows Sylveon. The nickname trick is described by iMore’s Eevee evolution guide and Bulbapedia’s Eevee reference; Niantic’s support page does not document the trick.
- Confirm the cost and evolve. iMore lists the cost as 25 Eevee Candy. Tap Evolve only after the Sylveon preview appears and you are ready to spend the Candy.
Do not rely on the nickname alone: the preview is the practical check that the desired evolution is available before you commit.

If the nickname trick has already been used
Set Eevee as your Buddy and earn 70 Buddy Hearts with it before evolving, according to Bulbapedia’s description of the standard Sylveon method. Niantic’s Buddy Adventure help page describes activities that earn affection hearts and says they reset at midnight local time, but it does not state the Sylveon-specific 70-heart threshold.
What the official game help confirms
Niantic’s evolution help page explains that Pokémon need enough Candy to evolve and that certain Pokémon require a task or set of tasks. It does not confirm the Kira nickname, the one-time account limit, the 25-Candy cost for Eevee, or Sylveon’s Buddy Heart requirement. The nickname and specific Sylveon details above come from the cited secondary guides.
