Sign in to PlayStation Account Management or check your console’s account settings. If you mean your sign-in ID, look for the email address linked to the account; if you mean your PSN name, look for your online ID. A forgotten password cannot be viewed: reset it through PlayStation’s recovery process.
Which PSN account detail are you looking for?
- Sign-in ID: The email address you use to sign in. PlayStation also uses it for account messages and verification. See PlayStation’s sign-in ID guidance.
- Online ID: The name shown on your PlayStation profile. It is not the same as your sign-in email.
- Password: You can change or reset it, but account settings do not display it as readable text. Use the password reset instructions.
Find your sign-in email or account settings
Use Account Management on the web to manage account and security details. The Security page includes controls for the sign-in ID and password. If you are already signed in on a console, use that console’s account settings; menu names differ by model.
Find your online ID on PS4
On PS4, go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Profile > Online ID. This is a PS4-specific path, not a PS5 menu path. PlayStation published this navigation in its online ID guidance.
Reset a forgotten password or recover access
If you can open the account email
- On the Account Management sign-in page, select Trouble Signing In? > Recover Your Account.
- Enter the account’s sign-in ID email address.
- Open the secure link PlayStation sends to that inbox and follow its instructions. The message may take a few minutes to arrive.

To change a password when you know the current one, sign in to Account Management, open Security, and select Edit next to Password. On PS5, the path is Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Security. On PS4, it is Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Security.
If you forgot the email or cannot access it
Use PlayStation’s Online Assistant and account recovery guidance. This is also the support route if your sign-in ID, online ID, or password was changed without your permission. For a child account, only the family manager can reset the password, according to PlayStation’s password guidance.

Change the sign-in email
Sign in to Account Management, open Security, then edit Sign-In ID (Email Address) and verify the new address. PlayStation says changing the sign-in ID signs the account out of all devices and sends a notice to the old address. Menu details can vary by console and region; see PlayStation’s email-change instructions.
What account details can you change or look up?
PlayStation’s UK account-creation guidance lists details such as date of birth, country or region, preferred language, sign-in email, password, online ID, and name. It says date of birth and country or region cannot be changed after account creation. The guidance does not provide a general self-service lookup for a forgotten date of birth; contact PlayStation Support for an account-specific issue rather than relying on a settings screen to reveal or edit it.

Protect the account and respond to unfamiliar changes
PlayStation supports passkeys as a sign-in option. Its two-step verification guidance supports an authenticator app or SMS and recommends recording backup codes. If you lose access to the device or method you set up, follow the two-step verification help and account recovery steps; contact Support if you cannot use them.
If you receive an unfamiliar account-change email, first check whether you initiated the change. If you did not, use the Online Assistant to report it, and secure the email account linked to PlayStation as well, as advised in Account & Security.
