Where is a Factory Strider’s weak spot?
Focus fire on the exposed head. Arrowhead’s 4.1.0 update notes lowered the Factory Strider’s head-zone armor from 3 to 2. That makes the head a meaningful target for anti-tank weapons, but the patch notes do not specify how many hits are required to destroy one.

Keep the target distinction clear: Factory Striders are not Scout Striders or War Striders, and their weakpoints and armor rules should not be assumed to match.
Which weapons work against Factory Striders?
Arrowhead’s general guidance favors dedicated anti-tank weapons against weak spots on large enemies. A community-maintained Factory Strider guide reports these head-hit counts:

Use these figures as reference points rather than guaranteed current kill requirements. Arrowhead’s official notes establish a head-armor change, not exact weapon-by-weapon kill counts.
How should a squad attack one?
- Choose anti-tank options. Bring a weapon suited to heavy armor and weakpoint damage; the best choice depends on your loadout and the current game version.
- Call out the exposed head. Make sure teammates are focusing on the same weak spot rather than spreading shots across the Strider’s body.
- Coordinate your fire. Concentrated anti-tank shots are a practical way to avoid wasting ammunition on scattered body hits. This is tactical guidance based on the documented weakpoint and weapon roles, not a procedure Arrowhead has published as a tested method.
Do fire or gas reliably stop a Factory Strider?
No. Arrowhead’s 4.1.0 notes say Factory Striders are slightly less vulnerable to fire, so fire should not be the centerpiece of a quick-kill plan. The later 6.2.2 notes state that large enemies such as Factory Striders do not become confused by gas and are not slowed by that gas effect. Do not count on gas confusion to control one.

What changed in the official notes?
Arrowhead published the Into the Unjust 4.1.0 notes on February 3, 2026; they document the head-zone armor reduction and reduced fire vulnerability. Its 6.2.2 notes, dated April 28, 2026, document the gas-confusion limitation. The 6.2.2 notes do not list a Factory Strider adjustment, but that absence alone does not establish that no other change occurred.
The official notes reviewed do not give exact current kill thresholds. For that reason, treat community-guide shot counts as version-sensitive, and prioritize the exposed head with coordinated anti-tank fire rather than relying on a fixed number of hits.
