If Helldivers 2 says “servers at capacity” while you can get in easily, that does not prove there is a current, game-wide capacity problem—or that you have found a way around one. Arrowhead Game Studios gave two possible explanations for connection failures in a February 2024 update: a per-minute limit on login requests had been exceeded, or the servers were full. That is a historical explanation, not confirmation of today’s server status or the reason your own attempts succeed.
Why can one player get in while another sees “servers at capacity”?
Access can differ from one attempt to another, but Arrowhead’s explanation does not establish why a particular player gets in. It names two possible causes of a failed connection, not a player-specific rule. There is no cited evidence that access depends on platform priority, region, or a secret bypass.

A login request limit
Arrowhead said a connection could fail when the maximum number of login requests for that particular minute had been exceeded. In its February 2024 update, the studio said it raised that limit from 10,000 to 20,000 requests per minute. Those are incident-era figures, not published current limits. Arrowhead’s February 2024 announcement describes the limit alongside its other explanation.
Full concurrent capacity
The same announcement said a failed connection could also mean the servers were full, requiring someone to log out before new players could enter. Arrowhead reported increasing total concurrent-player capacity from 250,000 to 360,000 in that update. Those figures describe the February 2024 response; they do not show what the capacity is now.

What to check if you are still having trouble
- Identify where the failure happens. A message while starting or logging in is different from trouble finding a mission or joining other players after you are already in the game. The February 2024 explanation concerns connection failures, not every matchmaking problem.
- Check Arrowhead’s current known-issues index. It is a place to look for reported game issues, but its existence alone does not confirm an active capacity incident.
- If needed, contact the support channel PlayStation identifies. PlayStation’s Helldivers 2 support page directs players to Arrowhead for gameplay, patch, and bug questions. Include your platform, when the failed attempt occurred, and whether you had already entered the game; these details help distinguish a login failure from a later matchmaking issue.
- If the problem appears intermittent, try again later. A later attempt may have a different outcome, but there is no official evidence here for a method that guarantees admission.
Do crossplay settings or other workarounds fix it?
Arrowhead’s FAQ describes Helldivers 2 as an online game for Steam and PlayStation 5, with up to four online players, and says crossplay can be disabled. It does not say that changing crossplay settings resolves a capacity message. The available official sources also do not support claims that changing region, using a VPN, leaving the game open, or repeatedly launching it bypasses server capacity or login limits.
