Download DLC through the same platform account that owns it: open the game in your library, find its add-ons or DLC controls, and download or enable the content. The exact steps depend on your platform, and some add-ons become available in-game without a separate installation.
Download DLC on PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4
PS5
- Go to Games home > Game Library > Your Collection.
- Select the game, open its Add-Ons section, choose the DLC, and select Download.
To check whether an add-on is installed, highlight the game and choose Options > Manage Game Content. PlayStation’s download guide also describes remote downloads through the PlayStation App: open the game’s page and its Add-Ons section. Remote downloading requires a linked console and the applicable console setup.
PS4
- Open Library > Purchased and select the game.
- Open PlayStation Store > Your Add-Ons.
- Select the arrow beside the add-on to download it.
Menu wording and availability can differ by region. The PlayStation steps above are from its US download guide; its Australia-region add-on troubleshooting guidance covers checking game content and access.
Manage DLC on Steam
- Open your Library and select the game.
- Open the game’s Properties, then choose DLC.
- Check the DLC list and whether each owned item is installed. Enable or install an item there if needed.
You can also find DLC from the game’s Steam store page. Some library pages show a Manage My [number] DLC control, which opens the owned DLC list and its installation status. See Steam Support for its DLC guidance.

Install DLC on Xbox
- Open My games & apps, highlight the game, press the Menu button, and choose Manage game and add-ons.
- Select the game, then open Manage installation on the relevant drive.
- Choose the add-ons to install and save your changes.
These steps come from SEGA’s Xbox support instructions, so follow the current wording shown on your console if it differs. SEGA notes that items listed under More add-ons cannot be installed from that menu; an owned item there may instead become accessible in-game.
Find or redownload DLC on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2
If DLC appears to be missing, open the game’s software information page in Nintendo eShop and check its purchase or redownload status. Nintendo’s UK support guidance covers missing digital games and DLC on Switch and Switch 2. If you use a game card, reinsert it and install available updates when relevant.

To remove previously downloaded DLC and download it again, follow Nintendo’s separate redownload instructions. These instructions are from Nintendo’s UK support site; local menus or terms may vary.

- Check the account and game. Make sure you are using the account that owns the DLC and the correct game version or edition. Check the platform library or store for the entitlement; on Switch, check the game’s eShop software information and purchase or redownload status.
- Check its installation state. Use the platform’s add-on manager or DLC properties to see whether it is installed or still needs to be downloaded. On Xbox, some items under More add-ons may not install from the console’s management menu.
- Relaunch the game. Once the download finishes, close and reopen the game. Whether content appears immediately, and where it appears, depends on the title.
- Check the game’s own instructions. Add-on types and access methods vary by game. Some editions include DLC, so confirm what your edition contains before buying the add-on again.
DLC is digital content that may be sold separately from the main game. Downloading it, confirming ownership, and finding it in-game are separate checks: an item can be owned without being installed, or it may need no distinct installation step.
