What Hello Games is doing
In its December 12, 2024 announcement, Hello Games said it would publish Ghost Town Games’ next project, Stage Fright, and support the team behind the scenes. The announcement makes Hello Games the publisher, not the developer: Ghost Town Games is making the game.

Ghost Town Games is known for the Overcooked series. GamesBeat described Stage Fright as Hello Games’ publishing debut, reporting on the announcement and the companies’ stated enthusiasm for the collaboration. That characterization is secondary reporting; the companies’ own announcement confirms the publishing relationship.
What kind of game is Stage Fright?
Ghost Town Games describes Stage Fright as an adventure designed for two players. Players take on different combinations of three friends—Drew, Blake, and Charlie—as they explore, solve puzzles and escape-room-style challenges, and unravel an ancient mystery. The developer frames the story as a coming-of-age journey, with cooperative problem-solving and chaotic moments drawing on the studio’s experience with Overcooked.

The developer says the game supports both local and online co-op. Nintendo’s UK listing further specifies one to two players on a single system and two players online, and categorizes the game as action, puzzle, and adventure.
When does Stage Fright come out?
Ghost Town Games’ official Steam news post, dated September 9, 2026, says Stage Fright is “scheduled for release in Spring 2027.” Nintendo’s UK listing gives the Switch version a 2027 release year. Neither source provides an exact date.

Which platforms are announced?
The reviewed official materials identify PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. Nintendo’s UK listing is specifically for Switch. GamesBeat’s September 2026 report also names Switch 2 alongside Switch and PC via Steam; that platform detail is attributed to GamesBeat rather than the official Nintendo listing reviewed here. The sources do not establish every storefront or edition.
How does local co-op work on Switch?
Nintendo’s listing says multiplayer requires a compatible controller for each player and names the Switch Pro Controller as compatible. It does not say that this particular controller is mandatory. Check the current game and console requirements before arranging local two-player play.

What has not been announced?
The cited official listings do not establish a specific launch day, price, physical retail edition, or cross-platform multiplayer. The confirmed co-op options are local play and online play for two; support for players on different platforms has not been confirmed in these sources.
