If your PS5 won’t enable Console Sharing and Offline Play, first check whether your account already has the feature enabled on another PS5. It can be active on only one PS5 at a time. Disable it on the other console, then try again on the one you want to use. If you no longer have access to that PS5, use PlayStation’s remote deactivation option; it deactivates all devices and is available once every six months.
1. Check for an activation conflict with another PS5
On the PS5 where you want to enable sharing, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play. PlayStation says the feature is automatically allowed on the first PS5 used to sign in with the account. If it is already allowed on a different PS5, turn it off there before enabling it on the intended console. PlayStation’s support instruction is: “If you have Console Sharing and Offline Play allowed on another PS5 console, turn off console sharing on your console to change activation.” PlayStation’s Console Sharing and Offline Play instructions explain the activation process and its limits.
2. If you cannot access the old PS5, deactivate remotely
Sign in to Account Management and use the option to remotely deactivate all devices. This action applies to all devices, not just the unavailable PS5, and PlayStation allows it once every six months. After deactivation, try enabling Console Sharing and Offline Play on the PS5 you can access.
3. Rule out a service or connection problem
If there is no other PS5 activation to clear, check PlayStation Network service status. If PlayStation reports a service issue, wait for it to recover and retry the setting.

Next, install the latest available PS5 system software. Restart the router by turning it off, waiting at least five minutes, and turning it back on. If the connection remains unreliable, follow PlayStation’s connection troubleshooting guidance. Restart the PS5 and try enabling the setting again.
4. If the setting works but a game or other content is unavailable
An enabled sharing setting does not guarantee access to every item. Confirm that the account enabling sharing purchased the content. For a game obtained through PlayStation Plus, check that the subscription is active and that the game is still included in the subscription. For a padlocked game, follow PlayStation’s license or network troubleshooting rather than repeatedly changing the sharing toggle.

Error CE-109245-1
PlayStation describes CE-109245-1 as an error where “The license information of the content can’t be confirmed.” Its recommended steps are to restart the PS5, sign in to PSN with the account that owns the content, and enable Console Sharing and Offline Play. See PlayStation’s CE-109245-1 guidance.
What Console Sharing and Offline Play enables
The setting can be enabled on one PS5 at a time. When enabled, other users on that PS5 can play the enabling account’s purchased and downloaded games and media while offline, and can use some PlayStation Plus benefits. PlayStation notes that this setting does not affect other console activation limits; it also does not mean that every PlayStation Plus benefit is shared.

When to contact PlayStation Support
If you have confirmed there is no conflicting PS5 activation, checked service status, updated system software, restarted the router and console, and still cannot enable the feature, contact PlayStation Support. The official troubleshooting guidance does not establish another specific cause, so avoid treating hardware replacement or an undocumented workaround as the fix.
