To get Threefold Pin in Hollow Knight: Silksong, travel to the eastern side of Greymoor and find the large room with balloons and a house. Complete the combat trial inside the house to activate the balloons, then climb across them and the platforms to the room’s upper-right side. The hidden pickup is in a nook behind a large craw enemy, above Craw Lake.
Where is Threefold Pin in Silksong?
Threefold Pin is hidden in a cave above Craw Lake, on Greymoor’s eastern edge. Look for the large balloon-filled room with a house; it is the landmark for the route. Nintendo Life’s tool locations guide and GameSpot’s tools guide describe the balloon room and climb, while the Hollow Knight Wiki entry identifies the hidden cave above Craw Lake.
How do I get the throwing daggers?
- Reach Greymoor’s eastern balloon room. Find the large room with balloons and a house.
- Complete the combat trial in the house. This activates the balloons needed to reach the pickup.
- Climb toward the upper-right. Use the balloons and platforms; pogo across the balloons to reach the ledge on the right.
- Check behind the large craw enemy. The concealed nook above Craw Lake contains Threefold Pin. Enter it and collect the tool.
What does Threefold Pin do?
Threefold Pin is a Red Tool that throws three pins in a fan-shaped spread. Nintendo Life describes the projectiles as going upward at a 45-degree angle, while the Hollow Knight Wiki describes them as spreading forward. The sources differ on the direction wording, but agree that the attack launches three projectiles in a spread.
The spread can cover multiple targets. The wiki lists successive hits on one enemy as dealing diminishing damage, so the tool’s listed damage figures are reference mechanics rather than a guarantee that all three pins will hit for full damage. Its listed capacity progresses from 10 to 12, 15, 17, and 20, and its repair cost is 4; these are wiki-listed game-reference values, not independently tested recommendations.

How is it different from Straight Pin?
Straight Pin is described by Nintendo Life as a fast throwing knife, while Threefold Pin trades a single projectile for a three-pin fan. The Hollow Knight Wiki says Threefold Pin has greater burst and spread damage but is less effective at range. That makes its defining distinction coverage rather than a universal upgrade; the sources do not establish a tested build ranking.
