Spoilers: Lost Lace is part of the Act 3 finale. The guide below describes the Everbloom descent, the Void Waves, and the fight’s final phase.
To beat Lost Lace, keep moving in short, controlled bursts, evade each attack according to its tell, and take one safe hit during her recovery rather than chasing her. Jumping is useful against many of her attacks, but it is not a safe answer to Balestra. At 900 HP, stop treating the encounter as a normal exchange and climb to a wall to avoid the Void Waves.
Reach Lost Lace and understand the fight
Lost Lace is the final boss of Act 3, found in the Abyss. The community-maintained Hollow Knight Wiki describes her as Lace possessed by the Void. Reaching the encounter requires the Everbloom to descend into the Void, according to the community-maintained Last Dive walkthrough.
The Hollow Knight Wiki lists Lost Lace at 1,800 HP and describes four phases: Phase 2 begins at 1,349 HP, the Void Waves transition occurs at 900 HP, and Phase 4 begins at 540 HP. Those figures are game values reported by the wiki; the page does not state a publication year for them. The move names below are convenient labels used by the wiki, not necessarily canon names.

Use a controlled attack-and-evade rhythm
Lost Lace dives into and emerges from the Void, often close to Hornet. Avoid long, uncontrolled runs that can carry you into her contact damage. Reposition with short dashes, jump to avoid attacks where appropriate, and wait for a move to finish before striking. The wiki reports that most attacks leave a broad recovery opening, generally enough for one safe hit.
- Prioritize spacing. If you are unsure what comes next, move clear rather than squeezing in an extra attack.
- Do not attack into a defensive tell. Her raised pin signals a parry and riposte threat.
- Reassess after every move. Some attacks can be followed by another lunge or slash, so a recovery window is not a reason to attack automatically.
Recognize and answer Lost Lace’s attacks
The following responses are strategy reported by the Hollow Knight Wiki. Match your movement to the tell instead of relying on one evasive move for every attack.
Rank #2
- Hollow Knight: Silksong is the epic sequel to Hollow Knight, the award winning action-adventure.
- Journey to all-new lands, discover new powers, battle vast hordes of bugs and beasts and uncover secrets tied to your nature and your past.
Parry and riposte
When Lost Lace raises her pin defensively, do not strike her from the ground: she counters with a flurry. If you trigger the counter, jump immediately and use an air dash or double jump to get clear.
Aerial lunge
Jump or dash away from the diagonal dive. Once it has passed, check her position and wait for the attack to finish before taking a hit.

Void Tendrils
Against the ground version, jump toward or away from Lost Lace instead of dashing directly away. The tendrils can catch a ground dash.
Balestra
Move away as the circular slash begins. If you are already airborne and close, dash over her. A plain jump is not a safe response to this attack.

Triple Cut
Jump at the opening and reposition as needed. Watch for a follow-up if Lost Lace cancels the final slash; do not assume the apparent end of the sequence is safe.
Lashing Lunge
Jump over the tendrils, then reposition for the second lunge. Look for what she does next rather than attacking as soon as you land.
Best Value
Phase 2: avoid the added Void attacks
At 1,349 HP, Lost Lace adds Void Columns, Void Projectiles, and Void Blobs. Read the ground and keep moving so you are not where a marked attack is about to land.
- Void Columns: Leave the telegraphed ground zones before the columns appear.
- Void Projectiles: They track Hornet’s position from the start of the attack. Keep moving consistently rather than stopping in their path.
- Void Blobs: Ground blobs can burst after landing. Use the gaps between them, and only punish when the spacing is safe.
At 900 HP: survive the Void Waves
At 900 HP, Lost Lace drops beneath the floor and two large Void Waves sweep across the arena, one from each side. Reach a wall and use Cling Grip to stay clear of the waves. Treat this as a transition to survive, not an ordinary opening for damage. Afterward, Lost Lace resumes the fight, and every Dive now produces tendrils.
Phase 4: stay outside Lost Moulinet’s circles
At 540 HP, Lost Lace adds Lost Moulinet. White circles mark where her rapid slashes will land. Stay outside each circle, giving the raised final circle extra room: she ends the move there, then tendrils appear around her landing. The wiki reports brief openings when the move starts and when she lands, but take a hit only if you are safely positioned; surviving the sequence matters more than forcing damage.
Choose a loadout that supports your playstyle
The Hollow Knight Wiki mentions in-game options including Druid’s Eyes, Pale Nails, Longclaw, and defensive tools. These are optional playstyle considerations, not a required build. For this fight, consider what helps you survive, maintain useful attack range, and land a hit during the short recovery windows. A defensive choice may suit a player who needs more room to learn the tells; an attack-range option may help when safe openings are brief.
