This is the historical Phase 3 gear list for Holy Paladin healers in World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery. The recommendations and alternatives below follow Wowhead’s guide, which labels its list for Phase 3 and carries a patch 1.15.8 label; Blizzard defined Phase 3 as levels 41–50, with Sunken Temple as a 20-player raid dungeon. The guide says it was restored with only minor updates not carried out by the original author, so treat “best” as its recommendation rather than a proven universal optimum.
Phase 3 Holy Paladin stat priority
Wowhead’s listed priority is Healing Power, Intellect, Crit Chance, MP5, Strength, Stamina, Armor, then Spirit. This is the guide’s ordering, not a published simulation result. Its item notes also make clear that raw healing is not the only consideration: Intellect, Stamina, mana sustain, and encounter utility can make an alternative a better fit for an individual character.
Recommended Phase 3 gear by slot
The following names, rankings, and acquisition routes are from the Wowhead Phase 3 Paladin healer guide. “Best” reflects that guide’s label; options can vary with professions, availability, and your needs.
| Slot | Guide recommendation | Acquisition and alternatives | Guide-listed enchant or note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Head | Immaculate Goldsteel Helmet | Hazzas, Temple of Atal’Hakkar. Alternatives: Soulcatcher Crown (Gasher), Voodoo Feathered Headdress (Hazzas), Knight-Lieutenant’s Imbued Helmet (Captain Dirgehammer, Stormwind), or Emerald Encrusted Helmet (Quartermaster Kyleen, Ashenvale). | Lesser Arcanum of Voracity. |
| Shoulders | Baleful Pauldrons or Wailing Chain Mantle | Crafted by Blacksmithing or Leatherworking, respectively. Best non-crafted option: Mantle of Lost Hope from Lord Roccor in Blackrock Depths. Other options: Knight-Lieutenant’s Imbued Pauldrons or Emerald Encrusted Spaulders. | Atal’ai Signet of Serenity. |
| Back | Featherskin Drape | Avatar of Hakkar, Temple of Atal’Hakkar. Alternatives: Caretaker’s Cape (Ashenvale), Cloak of Invention (Gnomeregan), or Cape of Hemostasis (Stranglethorn Vale). | Greater Resistance. |
| Chest | Obsessed Prophet’s Chestplate | Atal’ai Blood Icon from Zalgo the Explorer in Temple of Atal’Hakkar; the guide says its set bonus improves the chest. Alternatives: Knight’s Imbued Armor or Emerald Encrusted Battleplate. | Stats. |
| Wrist | Void-Powered Invoker’s Vambraces | Crafted by Engineering. Best non-crafted option: Atal’ai Medicine Man’s Wrists from Dreamscythe in Temple of Atal’Hakkar. Other options: Dryad’s Wrist Bindings or Tinker’s Wrist Wraps. | Healing Power. |
| Hands | Emerald Scalemail Gloves | Hazzas, Temple of Atal’Hakkar. The guide calls these the top raw-healing choice but notes their lack of Intellect and Stamina; Hands of the Tormented are a reasonable alternative. Other options: Sergeant Major’s Imbued Gauntlets or Emerald Encrusted Handguards. | Greater Strength. |
| Waist | Belt of the Forsaken Worshipper | Hazzas, Temple of Atal’Hakkar. The guide calls it largely interchangeable with Devotee’s Sash of the Emerald Dream from Grubbis. Mech-Mender’s Sash is another option. | Not stated. |
| Legs | Obsessed Prophet’s Legguards | Atal’ai Blood Icon from Zalgo the Explorer in Temple of Atal’Hakkar. Alternatives: Revitalized Drake Scale Leggings or the easier reputation option, Emerald Encrusted Legplates. | Lesser Arcanum of Voracity. |
| Feet | Obsessed Prophet’s Ornate Boots | Atal’ai Blood Icon from Zalgo the Explorer in Temple of Atal’Hakkar. Alternatives: the easier reputation option Emerald Encrusted Plate Boots, or Sergeant Major’s Imbued Greaves. | Minor Speed. |
| Neck | Perfectly Preserved Dragon’s Eye | Shade of Eranikus, Temple of Atal’Hakkar. Alternatives: Pendant of Homecoming (Gnomeregan), Gemshard Heart (Maraudon), or Triune Amulet (Scarlet Monastery). | Not stated. |
| Rings | Drakeclaw Band of the Blood Prophet and Chivalrous Signet | Drakeclaw Band is a reward from A Broken Ritual; Chivalrous Signet is a reward from Forging the Mightstone, both in Temple of Atal’Hakkar. Other options: Hypercharged Gear of Innovation (Gnomeregan) or Cyclopean Band (Blackrock Depths). | The guide notes the Signet’s Strength can add some spell power through Sheath of Light. |
| Trinkets | Atal’ai Blood Ritual Charm and Bloodlight Reverence | The charm drops from Avatar of Hakkar; Bloodlight Reverence is sold by Mai’zin in Stranglethorn Vale. Other options: Acolyte’s Void Pearl (Blackfathom Deeps) or Miniaturized Combustion Chamber (Gnomeregan). Nifty Stopwatch is a situational mobility pick; Alliance Insignia is also listed situationally. | Situational options depend on the encounter. |
| Main hand | Witch Doctor’s Stick of Mojo | Shade of Eranikus, Temple of Atal’Hakkar. Alternatives: Gear-Mender’s Grace (Gnomeregan) or Hand of Righteousness (Scarlet Monastery). | Mighty Intellect. |
| Off hand | Drakestone of the Blood Prophet | Hazzas, Temple of Atal’Hakkar. The guide calls it technically best but says its lower Stamina and Intellect can make Sewer Turtle Half-Shell more attractive. Other options: Dielectric Safety Shield, 9-60 Repair Manual, or Beacon of Hope. | Greater Stamina. |
| Libram | Libram of Benediction | Grubbis, Gnomeregan. | The guide says it is the only libram useful to Paladin healers in the list. |
When an alternative may suit you better
- Choose for more than raw healing. Emerald Scalemail Gloves lead the guide’s raw-healing comparison, but sacrifice Intellect and Stamina relative to Hands of the Tormented.
- Weigh your off-hand stats. Drakestone of the Blood Prophet is the guide’s technical top pick, but Sewer Turtle Half-Shell may be more appealing if its Stamina and Intellect are more valuable to your character.
- Use utility for the encounter. The guide lists Nifty Stopwatch situationally for fights where mobility matters; it is not presented as a default healing trinket.
- Account for access. The list includes crafted gear, raid drops, dungeon rewards, quests, PvP or vendor options, and reputation gear. A theoretical upgrade may not be practical if its profession, faction, or activity route is unavailable to you.
How to use this list
Use the slot table as a Phase 3 target list, then compare each candidate against what your character actually needs: healing power, mana and main stats, survivability, and encounter-specific utility. Wowhead’s guide page is labeled patch 1.15.8 and says it was updated July 7, 2026; it also notes the guide was restored with only minor updates not carried out by the original author and points readers to its linked class community for newer tips. For historical context, Blizzard’s Phase 3 announcement describes the level range as 41–50 and introduced Sunken Temple as a 20-player raid dungeon, alongside new runes, abilities, and helm and bracer rune slots.
