Start with the checks that are easy to undo: confirm Ubisoft services and your internet connection are working, fully close Ubisoft Connect PC, then rename its cache folders so the app can rebuild them. If the screen stays blank, update Connect PC and check for security-software or background-app interference. Reinstall only as a later step, after protecting local saves and reading the uninstall prompts.
Ubisoft’s guidance covers related technical, login, and connectivity problems, but does not identify one universal cause or guarantee a fix for every blank-screen case. The steps below are a troubleshooting sequence, not a diagnosis.
1. Check Ubisoft services and your connection
First, check Ubisoft’s service-unavailable guidance for signs of an outage or service degradation. If Ubisoft’s services are unavailable, changing files on your PC is unlikely to help; wait for service to return and try again.
Confirm that your PC has internet access and that Ubisoft Connect PC is not running offline. Ubisoft says the desktop app can launch in offline mode without an internet connection, which can affect login and online features. See its login troubleshooting guidance.

2. Fully close Connect PC and reset its cache
Ubisoft says emptying the app’s cache can help resolve some technical issues. It is a limited, reversible step: rename the cache folders rather than deleting game folders or save files.
- Log out of Ubisoft Connect PC, then close it completely. Check that it is not still running in the background.
- In File Explorer, open each default Windows cache location that exists:
C:Program Files (x86)UbisoftUbisoft Game LaunchercacheC:Users<Username>AppDataLocalUbisoft Game Launchercache
If AppData is hidden, enable hidden items in File Explorer. Replace
<Username>with your Windows account name. - Rename each
cachefolder, for example tocache_backup. If Connect PC was installed in a different location, check that installation location instead of assuming the default paths. - Start Ubisoft Connect PC again. The app creates new cache folders automatically.
Ubisoft’s full instructions are in Emptying the cache of Ubisoft Connect PC. If the app recreates its cache but the screen remains blank, continue to the next checks. To undo the rename, close the app and remove the newly created cache folder before renaming the backup to cache.

3. Update Connect PC and check for software interference
Make sure you are using the latest version of Ubisoft Connect PC. Ubisoft’s outdated-app service-error guidance addresses errors related to an outdated client.
For diagnosis, temporarily close background applications and check whether security software is blocking Connect PC. Ubisoft recommends these checks for overlay issues; they do not establish that another app or antivirus is the cause of a blank screen. Its overlay troubleshooting page explains the related checks. For login problems, Ubisoft also recommends trying to run the app with administrator rights; treat that as a test, not a permanent requirement.

4. Reinstall only after protecting saves
If the screen is still blank, reinstalling is a broader repair. Before uninstalling, back up local save files. Ubisoft says the uninstall process offers an option to keep or remove installed games and local saves, so read each prompt carefully and choose what you intend to retain.
- Follow Ubisoft’s installation and reinstallation instructions.
- During uninstall, review the choices for installed games and local saves. Do not assume they will be retained without checking the selected options.
- Ubisoft’s instructions then say to delete the installation Cache folder and install Connect PC again.
- Restart the system after installation, as recommended on Ubisoft’s installation page, then launch Connect PC.
5. Contact Ubisoft Support if it still will not load
If the problem persists, follow Ubisoft’s connectivity troubleshooting guide. Ubisoft directs users with unresolved connectivity issues to contact support with DxDiag and MSInfo reports if the guide does not solve the problem. For a continuing blank screen, describe what happens, list the steps you tried, and attach screenshots if they help show the issue. Provide diagnostic reports when Ubisoft Support requests them.
