“Change my Activision account” can mean updating the email on the account, switching the PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Battle.net, Nintendo, or Ubisoft account linked to it, or recovering access after a problem. Use the route that matches what you need to change. If you want to keep your Call of Duty progress and owned content, take care before linking a platform account to a different Activision account: cross-progression is tied to the Activision account.
Change the email address on your Activision account
Use this route if you can sign in and want to replace the email address associated with the same Activision account. Activision’s account-management instructions require verification through both the current and new email addresses.
- Sign in to your Activision account and open Basic Info.
- Select Edit beside the email address. Complete the verification step using the code sent to your current email.
- Enter the new email address and save. Enter your Activision password if prompted.
- Open the verification message sent to the new address and select Verify Your Email Address.
Activision requires authenticator-app or SMS two-factor authentication to be enabled before an email change, and says an email address can be changed only once every 12 months. If the edit option is unavailable, contact Activision Support.
Switch the platform account linked to Activision
Use this route if you want to unlink one platform login and link another to your Activision account. This changes the platform connection; it does not move progression from one Activision account to another.

- Sign in to your Activision account and open Linked Accounts.
- Select Unlink beside the platform account you want to remove, then confirm.
- Choose the option to link the desired platform account and complete Activision verification and the platform provider’s sign-in flow.
Activision permits unlinking an individual platform account only once every 12 months. Active enforcement may restrict unlinking, and Activision may deny a request if it detects suspicious activity. Only one account per provider can be linked to an Activision account. See Activision’s linking and unlinking rules before proceeding.
Understand what happens to progress before switching
Activision says games with cross-progression store progress on the Activision account, not the platform account. Linking your platform account to a different Activision account therefore does not transfer that progress to the new account. Activision says progress and owned content are not lost: relinking the platform account to its original Activision account restores access to them. If preserving that progression matters, reconnect the platform to the original account rather than treating a new link as a transfer.

If you cannot access the email on your Activision account
Try signing in to Activision through a platform account that is already linked. Activision’s security guidance says an existing linked first-party platform login may let you reach account settings and update your password or email. It does not guarantee that every account can be changed this way.
If you are blocked by email verification, Activision recommends asking your email provider to restore access. If the provider cannot help, contact Activision Support about email verification. Support may be unable to change account details for privacy and security reasons, so access to a linked platform login or the current email may be important.

If you think someone has taken over your account
Use Activision’s Hacked Account Recovery route if someone changed your details or you suspect unauthorized access. Follow the recovery instructions rather than casually unlinking or moving platform accounts: a request may be denied if a temporary account uses a disposable or unverifiable email, or if you link a platform account that was not originally connected to the hacked Activision account.
If you receive an unexpected notice that an unknown platform account was linked, Activision advises signing in, unlinking that account, and updating your password. For an unrecognized login attempt, change your password immediately. If suspicious activity continues, submit a recovery request. Activision’s account-security guidance also warns against suspicious sites or offers for in-game items and digital content.
