It depends on what you want to change: to replace a linked PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo account, update the link in your Epic Games account settings; to change which platform is Rocket League’s primary platform, use Rocket League account linking. Before unlinking anything, identify the platform account that holds your progress: Rocket League progress is saved to that external account, not to your Epic Games account.
Replace a linked console account
Use this route when you want to remove one PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo account from an Epic Games account and link another of the same platform type. Sign in to the Epic account that is currently linked to the console; if you are already signed in, confirm it is the right Epic account before making changes. Epic recommends using a private or incognito browser session if needed to avoid signing in to the wrong account. See Epic’s console-account linking instructions.
- Open Epic Games account settings and go to Linked accounts.
- Find the platform account you want to remove and choose Unlink.
- Read Epic’s warnings and confirm only if you have verified that this is the account you intend to unlink.
- Return to Linked accounts and link the intended platform account. If Epic blocks the link because another account of that platform type was previously linked, follow the restriction-removal flow described below.
- Launch Rocket League on every platform linked to the Epic account and reach each platform’s main menu so progress and items can sync.
Check where your progress lives first
Epic says Rocket League progress is saved to the external platform account you play on, not to your Epic Games account. Link the platform account that holds your progress to the same Epic account as your other platforms. Unlinking the progress-bearing account can remove access to its content; Epic warns that shared profile data, progress, history, purchases, and earned content may reset. If Epic blocks a replacement account
A restriction may apply when you try to link a different account of the same platform type. Epic says the restriction can be removed only once every 365 days. Follow the restriction-removal steps in Epic’s linking-restriction support page, then return to Linked accounts and link the intended account.

Change Rocket League’s primary platform
If you are not replacing a console identity in Epic settings but want to designate a different platform as Rocket League’s primary platform, use the separate Rocket League linking page. Epic’s support instructions say a date of birth must be added to the Epic account before linking platforms or playing Rocket League.
- Go to rocketleague.com/activate.
- Under Epic Games Account Linking, choose Manage and sign in to the Epic Games account.
- Select Change Primary and follow the prompts.
Epic’s support article says the primary platform can be changed only once every 24 hours. This is separate from removing a console account in Epic’s Linked accounts settings. See Epic’s primary-platform instructions.

Fix Rocket League progress or items that are not syncing
- Confirm the progress-bearing account: Identify the PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, or other external platform account where the progress was earned. It must be linked to the same Epic Games account as the other platforms.
- Launch the game on each linked platform: Reach the main menu on every platform. Epic says progress and items sync only after Rocket League has been launched on each one.
- Check whether the progress account was unlinked: If you removed the account that held the progress, Epic says you lose access to that content. Review the unlinking warnings and account links before making further changes.

If you mean changing your Epic account itself or your display name rather than a platform link or primary platform, those are different account settings; specify which one you mean to get the right steps.
