To see adult games on Steam, sign in and open Store Preferences. Enable the adult-content categories you want to see, then use the page’s save or confirmation control. Steam calls these account-level adult-content preferences; “18+ filter” is not confirmed as the exact name of a single setting.
Change adult-content preferences in Steam Store Preferences
- Sign in to the Steam account whose store you want to change.
- Open the account menu and select Store Preferences. You can also visit Steam’s Store Preferences page; signed-out visitors are redirected to sign in.
- Find the adult-content preferences and enable the categories you want to see. Follow the save or confirmation control shown on the page.
Steam says account adult-content preferences determine the types of games and community content shown to that account. The exact labels and categories may vary or change; Steam’s settings page requires sign-in, so its current controls are not visible to signed-out visitors. If mature content is still unavailable in the UK
Steam has a separate UK age-assurance flow. Steam Support says UK users must be logged into an active account and explicitly opt in through account settings to access mature-content store pages and related community hubs. Its UK guidance describes a valid credit card stored on the account as the age-assurance method for that flow. This requirement is UK-specific, not a universal Steam setting.

Check family controls separately
Adult-content preferences control which kinds of games and community content appear. Family controls can instead restrict access to games or features. If a PIN or family restriction is blocking access, review the account’s Steam Families parental controls. Steam says its older Family View feature has been replaced by Steam Families; see Steam Support’s Family View information.
