To repair armor in World of Warcraft, interact with an NPC who offers item repairs and select the repair option in the vendor window. You can find repair services in major cities such as Stormwind and Orgrimmar, or ask a city guard to point you toward one.
Repair your armor at an NPC
- Find a repair-capable NPC. Look for a vendor who offers repairs, or ask a city guard for directions.
- Interact with the NPC to open the vendor interface.
- Select the repair option in the vendor window. The interface will show the repair before you confirm it.
Repair prices can depend on your current gear and its condition. Check the amount displayed in your character’s repair window rather than relying on a fixed price or formula.
Where to find repair services in Stormwind and Orgrimmar
Blizzard’s city guides list repair services in several districts. These are examples rather than a guarantee that every NPC or layout will remain unchanged across game versions.
| City | Examples of areas with repair services |
|---|---|
| Stormwind | Trade District, Dwarven District, Old Town, and Harbor |
| Orgrimmar | Hall of Legends, Valley of Strength, and Cleft of Shadow |
See Blizzard’s Stormwind city guide and Orgrimmar city guide for the listed locations. If a vendor is not where expected, ask a guard: Blizzard says guards can mark directions on your map.

Can a mount repair your armor?
Some repair-capable mounts can let you access repairs while traveling, but they are an optional convenience; you do not need one to repair gear. Blizzard advertised the Grizzly Hills Packmaster as able to repair and transmog while traveling. That announcement does not establish whether the mount is currently available or how to obtain it.

Blizzard’s Revelations Content Update Notes for version 12.0.7 say: “Weapons and armor will no longer take durability damage from combat events (attacking, blocking, etc.).” This is a version-specific change to durability loss from combat events; it does not establish that every source of durability loss has been removed, or that the same rule applies in other game modes or older versions.
