Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0, titled “No Aha at Full Moon,” was announced for February 13, 2026. Its preview introduced Planarcadia and the Phantasmoon Games, two new five-star Elation characters, new activities and system changes, and a set of version rewards. The details below reflect the pre-launch announcement, not independently verified final patch notes.
When was Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 announced to go live?
HoYoverse announced Version 4.0 for February 13, 2026, in a PlayStation Blog preview published February 6, 2026. That date is the announced global version date; the preview does not establish regional update timing. The post’s author, Chengnan An, is identified as Lead Game Designer of Honkai: Star Rail. He wrote: “We are thrilled to announce that a brand-new world known as Planarcadia will officially be unveiled in Version 4.0 No Aha at Full Moon.” Read the PlayStation Blog announcement.
What is the Version 4.0 story about?
Planarcadia and Duomension City
The Astral Express was set to travel to Planarcadia, described in the preview as Himeko’s homeland and a world associated with entertainment. Its first destination was Duomension City, where the story centers on the Phantasmoon Games, a competition said to have been established by Aha, Aeon of Elation.
Interplanar Jump and imagenae
The announcement described Interplanar Jump as a way to enter a Duomension, where the visual style and movement change. It previewed abilities such as double-jumping and walking on water, and introduced imagenae: beings born from painting and imagination. The preview said the broader story of Elation would span a year, with Astropolis, an IPC stronghold, appearing later; these are story plans, not a complete plot summary.

Which new characters and combat mechanics were announced?
Version 4.0’s preview announced two new five-star characters, both following the Path of Elation:
- Yao Guang: A Physical character whose previewed kit uses Weal and Woe Lots and generates Punchlines.
- Sparxie: A streamer-themed character whose previewed kit spends Skill Points to send Gifts, with effects tied to Punchlines and a multi-hit lucky draw during an Aha Instant.
The announced combat system builds Punchlines during battle. When an Aha Instant occurs, Elation characters can unleash Elation Skills, with effects scaling as Punchlines increase. The preview also mentioned Certified Banger buffs after an Aha Instant. These are high-level descriptions from the announcement, not final ability text.

Which characters were listed for Warp appearances?
The preview listed these returning characters by half of the version. This is historical, version-specific banner information, not a guide to current Warp availability.

- Cosmicon Collective: A card-duel event.
- Furbobo Weekly: A magazine-editor management activity.
- Currency Wars: An expansion with new characters and mechanics.
- Divergent Universe: An update to the existing mode.
What system changes and rewards were previewed?
Assignments and interface improvements
The preview said Assignments would no longer be limited by fixed times or characters. It also announced optimizations to the Relic and Team Lineup systems, without detailing the final interface or mechanics in the preview.
Announced Version 4.0 rewards
The February 6, 2026 announcement listed 20 Warps, a new Ruan Mei outfit, a choice of one five-star character, 1,600 Stellar Jades from Yao Guang’s Weal Sign event, and new Trailblaze attire including an outfit and headwear. These are reward amounts and items announced for Version 4.0, not confirmation of a currently claimable offer; the preview does not specify eligibility or expiration terms.
