Sign in to Activision’s Appeal a Ban page and check the enforcement status shown for the specific Call of Duty game. It can report no ban detected, a temporary or permanent ban, limited matchmaking or a Ranked Play restriction, or an appeal that is still under review. The page checks account enforcement, not hardware-ban status.
Check your status on Activision’s official page
- Open Activision Support’s Appeal a Ban page.
- Sign in to the Activision account you use for Call of Duty. The result applies to that account; checking a different account will not establish the status of yours.
- Read the enforcement result shown for each listed game. The page may show NO BAN DETECTED, a temporary or permanent ban, limited matchmaking, or an appeal status.
This is the account-specific check. A matchmaking problem, message from another player, or third-party post is not a substitute for the signed-in result.
What each result means
No ban detected
The page did not detect an account ban for the game or games displayed at the time you checked. It is a live status result, not a guarantee about a different title or a later date.
Limited matchmaking or Ranked Play restriction
Activision describes limited matchmaking and Ranked Play restrictions as states associated with suspicious activity. They are distinct from a confirmed temporary or permanent ban. Activision says a restriction can be removed or can change to a temporary or permanent suspension; removal does not certify that there were no potential violations.

Temporary ban
A temporary ban is an account enforcement status with a duration that can vary according to the severity of the infraction. Activision says temporary bans are not eligible for appeal.
Permanent ban
Activision describes permanent bans as lasting and final; enforcement may apply across past, present, or future Call of Duty titles. The stated exception is account hacking: a permanent ban will be overturned only if Activision determines the infraction resulted from the account being hacked.

Appeal under investigation or reviewed
If you submitted an eligible appeal, the page may show that it is under investigation or that the review is complete and final. Activision says it provides the appeal status after the investigation is complete, and that decisions are final.
Account enforcement is not the same as a hardware ban
The Appeal a Ban page reports account enforcement status; it does not display whether a device has a hardware ban. Activision treats hardware enforcement separately, and it is not eligible for appeal through the account-status appeal flow. Its Security and Enforcement Policy says hardware status may be checked in game using an account in good standing on a crossplay Call of Duty title on that device. A clean account-status result alone therefore does not answer whether a device has a hardware restriction.

If you think someone accessed your account
Do not treat suspected account takeover as an ordinary appeal alone. Activision’s appeal flow asks whether account information changed without your knowledge or unauthorized accounts were linked. If either may have happened, use Hacked Account Recovery and follow its account-security prompts.
Activision states that the account holder is responsible for infractions on the account, including penalties for conduct that occurred while someone else was playing. Saying you did not commit an infraction by itself does not guarantee a reversal; the stated basis for overturning a permanent ban is Activision’s determination that the infraction resulted from the account being hacked.
