Start by checking the active account, library filters, and hidden-game settings. A missing title may still be owned but hidden from view; it can also be tied to another account, pending or refunded, unavailable on the platform you’re using, or no longer included with a subscription. Follow the steps for your launcher below, then contact the store or subscription provider if the ownership record still does not match what you see.
1. Check filters and hidden games
First make sure the launcher is showing uninstalled titles and has not hidden the game or the entire library.
Epic Games Launcher
- Open Library, select Filters, and uncheck Installed to include games that are not currently installed.
- Select Reset to clear other active filters, then select the refresh icon beside the Library heading.
- If the whole Library is missing, open Settings, clear Hide Game Library, and restart the launcher. Epic documents Library availability for PC and Mac. Epic’s missing-games troubleshooting guide covers these checks.
Steam
- Check the Library filters in the Steam client to make sure they are not excluding the title.
- Open View > Hidden Games. If the game is there, use its Manage menu to remove it from the hidden list. Steam’s missing-game guidance describes these checks.
2. Verify the account and purchase
A game appears under the account that purchased, redeemed, or claimed it. If you use multiple accounts, sign out and verify the account currently open in the launcher. For Epic, try the original external sign-in method—such as the same console or account provider used when claiming the game—if you did not create an Epic account with an email and password.
Check the store’s purchase history or receipt to confirm the transaction completed. Steam says a pending purchase may not yet appear in the Library; if the purchase completed but the game is still absent, sign out of the Steam client and back in. Epic advises checking whether the transaction was a gift or a refund: a gifted game belongs to the recipient, and a refunded game is removed from the purchaser’s Library. 3. Check whether the game is still available to this account and platform
Epic Games Store
Confirm that the title was bought or redeemed for the platform you are using, that your operating system is compatible, and that the game has been released. A limited-time build, such as an event beta, may no longer be available after its access period. Epic also says a redeemed code can be revoked if it is reported as fraudulent; if you bought a retail code that was revoked, contact the retailer. EA Play
If you access a game through EA Play, check that you are signed into the correct EA account, that the relevant Steam, Epic, or console account is linked, and that your membership is active. Catalog availability can change, and inclusion may depend on platform and region. The EA app Library lists base games; DLC and expansions do not appear there as separate entries. 4. Refresh the launcher
Epic Games Launcher
Restart the launcher, refresh the Library, and clear the launcher’s webcache using Epic’s current instructions. Check that your computer’s date and time are set to update automatically. If the game or launcher files were moved, Epic provides a separate workaround for moved files rather than treating that as a missing entitlement. Steam
If the purchase is complete but the title remains missing after checking filters and the account, log out of the client and sign back in. If the Library shows the game but treats an older installation as uninstalled, that is an installation or library-folder problem, not evidence that ownership disappeared; use Steam’s installation troubleshooting for that separate issue.

5. Contact the store if the ownership record still looks wrong
Use the support service for the store or subscription that handled the transaction. Include the account identifier, launcher or platform, game title, transaction receipt or redemption evidence, and a precise description of what is missing. For a gift, check the transaction details for the recipient account. For a revoked Epic retail code, Epic directs players to the retailer. Console library interfaces and third-party collection apps can differ from the PC launcher steps above, so use the affected platform’s official support if your library is outside Epic Games Launcher, Steam, or the EA app.
