You can’t sell or transfer a Fortnite account under Epic Games’ current rules. Epic prohibits buying, selling, or sharing an Epic Games account, and says an account may not be sold, given away, or traded even with the other person’s consent. If you no longer want yours, you can delete it through Epic Support; if you keep it, secure it rather than giving anyone your login details.
Why you can’t sell a Fortnite account
Fortnite accounts are Epic Games accounts, and Epic’s account support page says buying, selling, or sharing one is against its Terms of Service: Can I buy, sell or share an Epic Games account?
Section 2 of the Epic Games Terms of Service, last updated and effective September 10, 2026, says an account cannot be sold, given away, or traded, even if the other person agrees. Account credentials also cannot be shared. Epic’s rules therefore don’t offer a compliant marketplace, transfer process, or cash-out option for an account.
What could happen if you try
Epic says sharing can lead to suspension or termination and loss of access to licensed products. Its account-security guidance also warns that buying, selling, or sharing may result in account restrictions or bans. The account holder remains responsible for activity on the account and penalties arising from sharing.

Fortnite’s Code of Conduct says enforcement depends on the case and can range from a warning to a permanent ban. A permanent ban may mean losing access to games, V-Bucks, and purchased content. Epic does not state that every attempted sale receives a particular penalty, and it publishes no sale-specific ban probability or enforcement rate.
Choose what to do with the account
| Choice | What to do | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Keep using it | Retain the account and strengthen its security. | You keep access without handing over credentials or violating the account-sharing rule. |
| Stop using it | Request account deletion through Epic Support. | This is an account-closure option, not a transfer or a way to recover the value of purchases. |
If you have linked services, review Epic’s linked-accounts guidance before requesting deletion. Follow Epic’s support process rather than giving your login to someone else.

Epic says it will ask for your password only on official Epic login pages. Don’t enter your credentials on an outside site advertising account sales, unofficial V-Bucks, games, or other items, and avoid suspicious links and attachments. Epic also advises against exchanging money for in-game gifts through third parties. A buyer’s offer or a site’s promise does not make a prohibited account transfer safe or permitted.
