In Minecraft, select Play → Edit beside your Realm → Members → Share Link. Copy the link or choose Share to send it through an app. Anyone with the link can join, so send it only to the players you intend to invite.

Send a Realm invite link

  1. Launch Minecraft and select Play.
  2. Select Edit beside the Realm you want to open.
  3. Choose Members, then Share Link.
  4. Select Copy to copy the link, or Share to send it through an available app.

Minecraft’s official share-link instructions warn that anyone with the link can join. Send it privately; do not post it on public message boards or social profiles.

Create and manage links in Bedrock

For Bedrock Edition, owners can use the Realm Hub’s invite-link controls. Menu wording may vary by interface version.

  1. Select Play, open the Realms tab, select your Realm, then choose Realm Hub.
  2. Go to Community → Members → Manage Realm Members → Invite Links.
  3. Select Add new invite link, adjust the settings, then copy and share the link.

In the Bedrock link-management instructions, Minecraft documents options to turn a link off, remove it, or set an expiration date in Advanced Settings.

  • Disable: Turn off Activate link to stop new players joining through it temporarily.
  • Remove: Choose Remove link to prevent new players from joining with that link.
  • Expire: Set an expiration date in Advanced Settings before sharing.

Bedrock 1.21.20 release notes state that a Realm can have up to five invite links, each of which can be activated or deactivated, set to expire, or deleted. The notes also say that a new Realm does not have an invite link by default; its owner must create one. These limits and defaults are specific to that release-note version. See the Bedrock 1.21.20 release notes.

Refreshing or replacing a link is not the same as removing players already admitted to the Realm. A 2017 Minecraft announcement said players who had already joined remained on the whitelist after a link refresh, while new players could no longer use the old link. That announcement is historical, so it should not be taken as a current description of every platform’s controls.

What the invited player does

The documented redemption steps are for Bedrock Edition:

  1. Launch Minecraft and select Play → Realms.
  2. Choose + Add/join Realm → Join an existing Realm.
  3. Enter the invite link and select Join.

See Minecraft’s Bedrock instructions for joining with a link.

Invite a specific player by gamertag instead

If you know the player’s gamertag or can find them as a friend, a direct invitation avoids sharing a bearer link that anyone can use:

  1. Select Play, then Edit beside the Realm.
  2. Open Members. If needed, choose Find Friends, enter the gamertag, and add the player.
  3. Select Invite beside that player’s gamertag.

Minecraft’s gamertag invitation instructions describe this method.

Which invitation method should you use?

Method Best for Access and trade-off
Share link Sending an invite to someone who is not on your friends list, or distributing it through an app. Easy to copy and send, but anyone who gets the link can join.
Gamertag invitation Inviting a specific player whose gamertag you know or can find. Targets an identified player; requires finding or knowing their gamertag.

Edition note

The detailed invite-link management and redemption steps above are documented for Bedrock Edition. Minecraft distinguishes Bedrock cross-play from Java cross-play in its Realms overview, and the cited joining instructions are specifically for Bedrock. The available official guidance does not establish that this same link workflow applies to Java Edition.
