Spoilers for late Act 2 and Act 3. To unlock Act 3, complete the Caretaker’s Silk and Soul wish, defeat Grand Mother Silk, then choose to play the Needolin instead of binding her. After the credits, reopen your save file to continue into Act 3. The unlock also depends on substantial wish-board and Flea Caravan progress, but guides do not establish a single exact minimum.
What you need to do
- Complete most wishes on the boards in Bone Bottom, Bellhart, and Songclave, returning to check for new wishes as you progress.
- Find Pale Lake in the Putrified Ducts and tell Fleamaster Mooshka. Find Vog and rescue fleas until the caravan moves to Pale Lake.
- After the second Lace fight in the Cradle, return to Songclave and speak with the Caretaker to receive Silk and Soul.
- Collect the four components for the wish: Seeker’s Soul, Hermit’s Soul, Maiden’s Soul, and Snare Setter.
- Defeat Grand Mother Silk and choose the Needolin option, not Bind.
- After the credits, return to the menu and select your save file again to enter Act 3.
How much wish-board and flea progress is required?
There is no confirmed universal count. PC Gamer says most wishes are sufficient and that you do not need every quest, every lost flea, or every town quest. GamesRadar+ gives a more conservative approach: complete the wishes on all three settlement boards, while acknowledging that a lower aggregate threshold may work but is unconfirmed. If the Caretaker has not offered Silk and Soul, keep completing available wishes and check the boards again after other tasks.
The caravan estimates are also guide-reported, not official thresholds. PC Gamer estimates about 22 rescued fleas, while GamesRadar+ says around 20 after finding Vog. Treat those numbers as rough guidance: the practical milestone is getting the caravan to relocate to Pale Lake.
Find the four Silk and Soul components
- Seeker’s Soul: In upper Bilewater, after defeating Groal the Great.
- Hermit’s Soul: With the Bell Hermit in tunnels beneath Bellhart.
- Maiden’s Soul: With the Chapel Maid in Bone Bottom.
- Snare Setter: In a hidden passage in Weavenest Alta. Reach it by playing Needolin at the east Moss Grotto door.
Bring all four components back to the Caretaker in Songclave to complete the wish.

Make the choice that opens Act 3
At the end of the Grand Mother Silk fight, choose to play the Needolin. Selecting Bind does not take this alternate Act 3 route. Once the credits finish, load the same save again; the black tendrils clear and the game continues into Act 3.

- Review the wish boards in Bone Bottom, Bellhart, and Songclave, and complete more available wishes.
- Confirm that you found Pale Lake, spoke with Fleamaster Mooshka, found Vog, and rescued enough fleas for the caravan to move.
- Make sure you have reached the second Lace fight in the Cradle, then return to the Caretaker.
- Restoring the Second Sentinel is listed as a requirement by PCGamesN, but PC Gamer says it is not required. It is a troubleshooting step to consider, not a confirmed mandatory prerequisite.
Guides also differ on how much side content is needed, so no specific wish or flea total can be treated as guaranteed. PC Gamer’s guide was updated September 30, 2025; PCGamesN’s was updated September 14, 2025.
