The Hitscan Hyperlight is a very light, small symmetrical wireless gaming mouse that RTINGS found performs well in its tested setup. Its 39g ± 1g manufacturer-listed weight and shape make it most compelling for players with smaller hands who use a claw or fingertip grip. The tradeoffs are an open-bottom design, no Bluetooth, and a separate purchase for 8,000Hz polling; the included receiver supports 1,000Hz.
What the Hitscan Hyperlight is—and what it costs
The Hyperlight is a compact, symmetrical wireless mouse built around a PixArt 3395 sensor and Nordic 52840 MCU. Hitscan lists its dimensions as 118 × 61 × 38 mm and its weight as 39g ± 1g. The official product page listed it for $89.99 when accessed on October 8, 2026; price and availability can change. Hitscan’s Hyperlight product page
Hitscan specifies sensor capability of up to 26,000 DPI, 650 IPS and 50G. Those are manufacturer specifications, not a promise that every player needs or will use those limits. The company also claims up to 75 hours of battery life; this is not an independently measured runtime. The mouse has a 250mAh battery.
Included in the box
- Hyperlight mouse
- 1,000Hz wireless receiver
- USB charging cable
- Two sets of PTFE skates
- Manual or insert
How it feels and who it suits
RTINGS describes a small symmetrical shell with a medium central hump, gradual rear taper and relatively straight sides. It considers the shape best suited to claw and fingertip grips, particularly for smaller hands. That makes shape fit the key question: low weight helps only if the shell feels secure and comfortable in your grip. Players who prefer a larger mouse or a more pronounced rear hump may want to compare shapes in person where possible.

RTINGS’ review praises the build quality, low click latency, sensor performance and low weight. Its assessment reflects its published test setup: the review was originally published January 31, 2025, modified May 22, 2026, and notes a September 2025 retest using RTINGS Methodology v1.5.2. Polling rate: 1K included, 8K optional
The Hyperlight works at up to 1,000Hz with its included receiver. To use up to 8,000Hz polling, you need Hitscan’s separate compatible dongle. The official accessory page listed the dongle at $24.99 on October 8, 2026; that price may change. Hitscan 8K dongle

So 8K is an upgrade, not a requirement to use the mouse. Hitscan recommends, for 8K use, an Intel i7-9700K or higher with an Nvidia GTX 1080 or higher and 16GB RAM, or an AMD 3600X or higher with a Radeon RX 5700 or higher and 16GB RAM. These are the manufacturer’s recommendations, not independently established minimum system requirements.
Limitations to weigh before buying
- Open bottom: RTINGS notes the open-bottom design leaves the interior more exposed to dust and debris than a fully closed base.
- No Bluetooth or device switching: The Hyperlight does not offer Bluetooth or multi-device pairing, so it is less flexible for moving between a gaming PC and other devices.
- Software: RTINGS reports no compatible macOS configuration software. Buyers who need to configure settings on a Mac should account for that limitation.
- Wheel and buttons: The wheel has neither free scrolling nor tilt inputs, and the mouse has fewer buttons than a dedicated MMO mouse.
Hitscan lists Omron optical main clicks, TTC mechanical side clicks and a TTC Gold dustproof wheel. The “dustproof” wheel component does not change RTINGS’ separate observation that the mouse’s open bottom exposes its interior to debris.

Is the Hyperlight worth it?
It is a strong candidate if you want a notably light wireless mouse, prefer a small symmetrical shape, and mainly use claw or fingertip grip. RTINGS’ positive assessment of click latency, sensor performance and build quality supports its gaming case, while the practical value depends on whether the shape suits your hand.
It is a less natural fit if you need Bluetooth, easy device switching, Mac configuration software, wheel tilt or extra MMO buttons. Also decide whether the included 1,000Hz receiver meets your needs: choosing 8,000Hz adds the cost of a separate dongle. At the listed $89.99 price, consider those fit and feature tradeoffs rather than buying on weight alone.
