For a broad external reference, the independent Silksong Map site advertises an interactive map covering 29 regions and offers progress tracking. In-game, Hornet’s map is acquired and filled in gradually: obtain a local map, explore, then rest at a bench to record new ground.
These are different tools: the interactive map can help you look up locations and track discoveries, while the in-game map reflects your own exploration. Full-map views and collectible, boss, or NPC markers can reveal spoilers.
Where to find a full Silksong map
The Silksong Map is an independently published interactive reference, not an official Team Cherry map or a map endorsed by the developer. The site advertises 29 unique regions and progress-tracking tools for locations and collectibles. That figure is the site’s count, not a confirmed official statistic. Community coverage can change, so treat its map as a useful reference rather than an authoritative statement of the game’s total size.
The site’s area index names locations including Bellhart, Bilewater, Blasted Steps, Choral Chambers, Cogwork Core, Deep Docks, Far Fields, Greymoor, Hunter’s March, Moss Grotto, Mount Fay, Putrified Ducts, Sands of Karak, Shellwood, the Abyss, the Marrow, Underworks, Verdania, Weavenest Atla, Whispering Vaults, Whiteward, and Wormways, as well as Citadel subregions. Use the names and boundaries shown in the game as your guide when community labels or interpretations differ.

Team Cherry describes Silksong as a sequel and calls its setting a “vast, haunted kingdom” on the official game page. The sources available for this guide do not establish a reliable map-size measurement or official region count.
How the in-game map works
The game does not reveal the whole world map when you start. You need a map for an area before your exploration can be recorded there. A quill tracks explored ground; after exploring uncharted sections, rest at a bench to update the map.

Get the area map
Shakra sells most area maps. The Citadel’s maps are obtained from machines, and some other area maps must be found in the world rather than purchased from her. Once you have the relevant area map and a quill, explore normally; the map fills in as you progress and updates when you next rest at a bench.
Check your position and mark landmarks
The world map is available from the inventory, and a quick-map overlay lets you check it during play. Shakra also sells a compass item that marks Hornet’s current position when equipped. Map pins can mark landmarks you have found, while five types of player-placed markers let you note places of interest yourself.

What to do if Shakra has moved or you missed her
PC Gamer reports a way to summon Shakra back to her usual Bone Bottom location: strike the ring at her spot twice. She should appear so you can purchase maps you missed. This recovery route is reported by a secondary source; if it does not work in your game build, check for a current guide matching your version before assuming the map is permanently unavailable.

A full map can answer a navigation question quickly, but it may also expose places you have not reached and reveal collectible, boss, or NPC locations. If you want help without removing the discovery, use the in-game map first and consult an external map only for a specific region or landmark.

- For a missed route or location, open only the relevant section of the interactive map rather than browsing every marker.
- For checklist use, track discovered locations on the community map, but remember that its coverage and categories are maintained independently of Team Cherry.
What is known about map updates and the game
On December 15, 2025, Team Cherry announced that its first expansion, Sea of Sorrow, was in development and planned as a free 2026 release, with new areas, bosses, tools, and more. That announcement described a plan at that time; it does not establish whether the expansion has since released. The interactive map’s 29-region count should therefore be read as the site’s stated coverage, not a guarantee that it reflects every later game update.
Team Cherry’s same December 2025 post reported more than seven million purchases and millions more players on Xbox Game Pass. Those are developer-reported figures from that post, not map statistics.
