Epic Games’ free Hogwarts Legacy offer ended on December 18, 2025, at 11 AM ET. The promotion has expired: only players who claimed the game during its window received it in their Epic Games library.
Can you still claim Hogwarts Legacy for free on Epic Games?
No. Epic’s offer applied during its 2025 Holiday Sale and ended December 18, 2025, at 11 AM ET. Epic announced that Hogwarts Legacy was free through that deadline; the Holiday Sale continued until January 8, 2026, but the game’s giveaway ended earlier. Epic’s announcement and its Holiday Sale guide give the promotion dates.
What happens if you claimed it before the deadline?
If you claimed the game during the offer window, it remains in your Epic Games library after the promotion. Epic describes claimed free games as digital licenses; this applies to timely claims, not to players who missed the cutoff. See Epic’s support explanation for missed free-game promotions and its Store FAQ.
How did the Fortnite Chocolate Frog Back Bling reward work?
Epic’s promotion also offered the Fortnite Chocolate Frog Back Bling to players who played Hogwarts Legacy for at least two hours by December 18, 2025. Both the claim deadline and the playtime deadline have passed. Epic’s Holiday Sale guide said eligible rewards could take 24 to 48 hours to appear after the giveaway ended and playtime was confirmed. Read Epic’s guide for the promotion terms.

Which version was included?
The Epic Games Store listing covered the Windows PC version, not every edition of the game on every platform. Epic describes Hogwarts Legacy as a single-player, open-world action RPG set in the 1800s in the Harry Potter world. Its listing identifies Avalanche Software as developer and Warner Bros. Games as publisher, and includes the game’s PC specifications. Check the listing’s Specifications section for compatibility details: Epic Games Store: Hogwarts Legacy.
Epic’s store is available on several platforms, but that store-wide availability does not mean this particular Windows product runs on each one. The relevant platform and requirements are those shown on the individual game listing.
