Your PlayStation sign-in ID is the email address linked to your account. If you can open that mailbox, reset access through Account Management. If you have forgotten the address or can no longer access it, use PlayStation’s Online Assistant; PlayStation cannot recover the mailbox itself, which must be handled by your email provider.

Recover access when you can open the linked email

Open PlayStation Account Management.
Select Trouble Signing In? > Recover Your Account, then enter your sign-in ID—the email address used for the PlayStation account.
Open the secure verification link PlayStation sends to that mailbox and complete the requested steps. The message may take a few minutes to arrive.

If you forgot the email address or cannot access its mailbox

Contact PlayStation through its Online Assistant. PlayStation directs people who have forgotten their sign-in ID or cannot open the linked mailbox to this support route. If you need access to the mailbox itself, use your email provider’s recovery process.

If the recovery email does not arrive

PlayStation’s UK troubleshooting guidance recommends these checks; labels and support routes may differ by region, so use the support site for your country if needed.

Check spam and junk folders, and search all mailboxes for “PlayStation.”
Confirm you entered the email address you actually use to sign in.
If the account is a child account, ask the family manager to reset its password.
Check PlayStation service status for a possible delay.

If you know the sign-in ID but have not verified it, search your inbox for “PlayStation verify” and follow the verification link.

If you lost passkey or two-step verification access

These are separate from forgetting the sign-in email. If you use a passkey and still have another registered device with the same verification method, sign in on that device and register a new passkey. If no registered device works—or you no longer have your two-step verification phone and backup codes—contact PlayStation Support.

If someone changed your account details

If your sign-in ID, online ID, or password was changed without your permission, contact PlayStation Support rather than treating it as a routine password reset. If you received an unexpected notice that your email address was changed, secure the email account by changing its password, then follow PlayStation’s account security guidance.
