If another store handled the payment, submit the request through that store instead. The seller, purchase type, date, region, and order eligibility all matter; a refund is not guaranteed.
Find the store that processed the purchase
Check the receipt or order history rather than guessing from the device you used. Minecraft is sold through different storefronts, and a device does not always identify which account or seller billed you. Minecraft Help says, “Each store that sells Minecraft has its own return policy.”

- Minecraft.net, Microsoft Store, or Xbox: Use the Microsoft account and order history associated with the charge.
- Nintendo Switch: Use Nintendo’s refund process.
- PlayStation: Use PlayStation’s refund process.
- iPhone or iPad: Use Apple’s refund process.
- Android: Use Google Play’s refund process.
- Steam: Use Steam’s refund process.
Minecraft’s refund guidance links to the relevant storefront policies. Its End User License Agreement says purchases made through other platforms are subject to those platforms’ terms. Local law may provide rights that the EULA cannot change, but the applicable rights depend on your location.
Request a refund for a Microsoft or Xbox purchase
Minecraft Help says game purchases from Minecraft.net or Microsoft/Xbox Store are generally eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase. “Generally eligible” is not a guarantee: Microsoft’s order page determines whether a particular item can be returned.

- Sign in to Microsoft order history with the Microsoft account that made the purchase.
- Find the Minecraft order. Check the date, item, and account to make sure you have the right transaction.
- Select Request a Return if that option appears beside the order.
- Follow the on-screen refund options and submit the request.
Microsoft displays the return action only for orders eligible to return. If it does not appear, the item may not qualify through that route; check the order details and contact Microsoft support or the seller shown on the receipt for next steps. Minecraft Help says access to the returned product is lost after a Microsoft Store refund is processed.
Request a refund from another storefront
For Nintendo, Apple, Google Play, PlayStation, or Steam purchases, follow that storefront’s current instructions. Minecraft’s refund page links to these policies; use the link for the store that actually processed your payment, since rules can vary by store and region.

These links are the policy destinations provided by Minecraft Help; the storefront may direct you to a regional page or require you to sign in. The reviewed Minecraft guidance does not specify a universal processing time.
Check the rules for Realms and Marketplace purchases
Realms subscriptions
Minecraft says Realms is not typically eligible for a full or partial refund. If a problem caused by Minecraft prevented you from accessing the service, contact Minecraft Support. Support will try to resolve the access problem; if it cannot, a refund may be possible.

Marketplace Coins
Minecraft’s Marketplace FAQ says Coin purchases are final and Coins cannot be converted back into cash. For a purchase you did not authorize, contact the store for the device used to make the purchase.
A mistaken Marketplace world purchase
The FAQ advises contacting the store or device support team that handled the transaction; whether a refund is possible depends on the circumstances. For a technical problem with a world, it separately recommends contacting the world’s creator. The FAQ says it is under revision and may contain outdated information, so check the current store terms before relying on its guidance.

What to check before you submit
- Confirm the seller and account from the receipt or order history.
- Identify what you bought: the base game, a Realms subscription, Coins, or Marketplace content.
- Check the purchase date and the refund terms for your country or region.
- For a Microsoft purchase, look for Request a Return on the specific order rather than assuming the general 14-day guidance guarantees eligibility.
- Keep the receipt and any relevant details about an access or billing problem available when contacting support.
The Minecraft editions page shows the broad storefront associations for different editions, but your transaction receipt is the reliable way to identify who billed you.
