There is no universal Roblox fly command. Whether you can fly—and what command activates it—depends on the specific experience, its current settings, and your permissions. Check that experience’s description or in-game help for its exact instructions; commands such as :fly or ;fly are not guaranteed to work across Roblox.
How to find the fly command for a Roblox experience
- Check the experience’s Roblox description. Look for an admin command list or instructions about flight. One experience description, for example, tells players to enter
:cmdsto see that game’s commands. That syntax applies only if the experience itself documents it: Roblox experience listing. - Check in-game help. If the description does not give the current instructions, look for a help menu or command list in the experience.
- Use the exact syntax and prefix shown there. Another experience listing advertised
;flyin a March 2024 update note, but that note does not establish the command’s current availability: Roblox experience listing. - Check whether your account is allowed to use it. Admin commands may be limited to specific roles or users, or may not be enabled in the current server or version. If the experience denies the command, use its normal flight ability or ask the creator about access.
Why the fly command may not work
Command behavior depends on the experience, not on a Roblox-wide command list. If a command fails, the experience may use a different prefix or syntax, have disabled the feature, or restrict it to certain users. A command mentioned in an older update note may also no longer be available. Use the experience’s current instructions rather than trying random command strings.
Is it safe to use a flying exploit?
A built-in ability or an admin command permitted by the experience is different from using an exploit to force your character to fly. Roblox Creator Hub explains that client network ownership can allow movement manipulation, including flying, and describes this as a security concern for developers—not as a player feature: Network ownership, movement validation, and physics. Do not treat exploit instructions as a legitimate way to access flight in a game.
How Roblox creators should implement flight
For creators, flight should be an intentional feature of the experience, with permissions and movement rules designed by the developer. A Roblox Developer Forum discussion describes one creator’s custom fly-command work, but it is an example discussion, not a complete or verified implementation: Need help with creating a fly command.

Roblox’s security guidance says not to trust the client with critical decisions and to validate important logic on the server. Its server-authority guidance explains the value of the server as the source of truth for player position and state: Security and cheat mitigation tactics and Server authority model. Roblox Creator Hub states: “The server must be the ultimate source of truth for all simulation states, rules, player progression, and critical decisions.”
