Collect 200 Starfruit seed packets, then use Starfruit’s unlock action in the in-game Almanac. The 200-packet threshold is reported by the community-maintained Plants vs. Zombies Wiki; EA confirms the general seed-packet mechanic but does not publish an official Starfruit unlock table.
Unlock Starfruit in the Almanac
- Open the in-game Almanac and select Starfruit. Check its seed-packet count and whether the unlock action is available.
- Collect Starfruit seed packets until you have 200. The community-maintained plant reference reports that threshold and says Starfruit became seed-unlockable after update 7.9.3 on March 8, 2020.
- When the threshold is met, use the unlock action shown for Starfruit in the Almanac.
Unlocking the plant is separate from collecting packets for later plant progression. EA describes seed packets as something players earn through play and use to fuel plants; see its Plants vs. Zombies 2 features page.
Where to look for Starfruit seed packets
Open Starfruit’s “Find More” panel in the Almanac and check the quests, events, and shop offers currently available in your game. Those options can change, and the available sources do not establish a permanent Starfruit-specific source, a guaranteed farming route, or which current option is fastest. Use the live game to confirm what is available for your version and account.
EA’s US App Store listing reflects that updates and themed events continue to change. Its event information does not establish that any particular Starfruit offer is available now.
