Unlock the three boards in this order: Western Land at Silver Player Rank, Mario’s Rainbow Castle at Gold Player Rank, and King Bowser’s Keep at the guide-reported 30-achievement milestone. Raise Player Rank by earning achievements; a guide also reports an alternate route to King Bowser’s Keep through Party-Planner Trek.
Which boards start locked?
The locked boards are Western Land, Mario’s Rainbow Castle, and King Bowser’s Keep. Nintendo lists all three among the game’s boards. The game has seven boards overall; four are available at the beginning, according to the Pocket Tactics guide.
Nintendo’s official board list names the boards, while its UK game page specifies the rank requirements for the first two.
How do you unlock each board?
Play modes and complete achievements shown in the game’s Data House/rewards progression to increase Player Rank. The board unlocks follow this sequence:

- King Bowser’s Keep: Pocket Tactics reports a milestone of 30 achievements. The guide also reports an alternate route: complete Party-Planner Trek and view the end credits.
Nintendo’s UK game page confirms Silver for Western Land and Gold for Mario’s Rainbow Castle. The 10-, 20-, and 30-achievement counts, along with the alternate King Bowser’s Keep route, are details reported by the Pocket Tactics unlockables guide; Nintendo’s pages consulted do not specify King Bowser’s Keep’s exact requirement.

Nintendo describes an upgraded Nintendo Switch 2 edition with improved visuals, performance, and new modes. The available Nintendo information does not establish whether board unlock requirements differ between editions, so the progression above should not be treated as proof that requirements are identical across versions.
