The organizer’s December 18, 2025 announcement identifies the event as The Game Awards 2025 and says the show took place on December 11, 2025. Game of the Year was one of the nine categories, not an additional award beyond the count.
Did Expedition 33 win every category it was nominated for?
No. Expedition 33 did not win Best Audio Design; Battlefield 6 won that category. The official Game Awards category pages confirm the Audio Design result and independently mark Expedition 33 as the winner in several of its categories. A nine-award sweep means nine wins, not a win in every nominated category.

Why do some tallies say Expedition 33 won three awards?
That count refers to the separate 2026 BAFTA Games Awards, not The Game Awards. BAFTA’s April 17, 2026 announcement names three wins for Expedition 33: Best Game, Debut Game, and Performer in a Leading Role for Jennifer English. The BAFTA result does not change the nine-win TGA total.
What does “record-breaking” mean in this context?
The verified result is a nine-category win at The Game Awards 2025. That establishes the tally for this game at this ceremony; it does not, by itself, establish a comparative record across all TGA ceremonies. The Game Awards also reported 171 million livestreams for the full 2025 show, excluding Prime Video, but that is a viewership figure rather than an award count.
