The official PlayStation description says that choices shape Jan’s relationships with his Alters and that those relationships affect their journey. That means decisions matter beyond a single plot turn: they help determine how Jan and the people created from his alternate life paths get along as they face the mission. Choices also involve practical tradeoffs. The PlayStation listing points to crafting items for the Alters versus making equipment such as Anomaly Detectors or Radiation Filters that can help advance the mission. Your resources and attention therefore serve both the people aboard the base and the expedition’s needs.
Multiple outcomes and endings
PlayStation describes the game as having “multiple outcomes and endings.” That confirms that decisions can affect how the story resolves, but the official product description does not give an ending count or a route-by-route decision tree. It is safest to treat the number and specific triggers as unconfirmed by these sources.

Is one ending the canon ending?
11 bit studios says it did not designate one base-game ending as the right one, leaving players free to interpret the endings. The studio also says the Last Variable expansion continues one of those endings. Its announcement describes Jan Scientist as remaining behind and starting a new journey, but the source material reviewed here does not establish the exact base-game choices needed to reach that continuation. 11 bit studios’ official Steam announcements
Can you follow a guide to reach a specific ending?
The developer’s Steam announcement says it planned to share a guide for reaching the ending continued by Last Variable, and warns players not to read it before finishing the game. The announcement available here does not expose the guide’s actual decision sequence. So, while the continuation is confirmed, these official sources are not enough to identify the exact dialogue options, Alter quests, or resource thresholds that lead to it.
