PlayStation
Enter: Down, Left, L1, Down, Down, R2, Down, L2, Down. The PlayStation cheat reference says entering the sequence again deactivates it.

Xbox
The Xbox cheat reference lists separate inputs for the original release and Definitive/Trilogy. Choose the sequence matching your release; Xbox controls are not interchangeable with PlayStation inputs.
Nintendo Switch
Use the Switch-specific sequence in the Nintendo Switch cheat reference. It says entering the sequence again deactivates the cheat.

Cheat oxygen and lung-capacity stat are not the same
The cheat is a shortcut to prevent the normal underwater air drain. Permanent stat progression is separate. GTAside’s guide, checked on 11 September 2026, says staying underwater raises lung capacity and collecting all 50 oysters maximizes it. Those are guide-reported figures, not official Rockstar statistics. See GTAside’s GTA San Andreas stats guide.
This distinction matters for missions: a GameFAQs listing for the PlayStation 2 version cautions that the infinite-lung-capacity cheat stops air from draining, but some missions still require you to raise capacity. GTAside reports a 5% minimum lung-capacity threshold for Amphibious Assault; treat that as a guide-reported gameplay figure. Choose the right approach

Be cautious about saving with cheats active
The PC/mobile reference warns generally that saving after some cheats can cause side effects and may interfere with 100% completion. It does not establish that this specific oxygen code has that effect on every version, so avoid treating the warning as a confirmed universal outcome for this cheat.
