Use /execute in to set the command’s dimension, then teleport yourself to Overworld coordinates. In Java Edition, enter /execute in minecraft:overworld run tp @s X Y Z. In Bedrock Edition, use /execute in overworld run tp @s X Y Z. Replace X Y Z with the coordinates where you want to arrive.
Use the command for your edition
Run the command in chat, replacing the example coordinates with a suitable Overworld landing point. The examples below send the executing player to (0, 80, 0).

The dimension name differs by edition: Java uses minecraft:overworld, while Bedrock uses overworld. The /execute in portion sets the dimension context for the teleport command; tp @s X Y Z teleports the player running it to those coordinates. Choose a destination and enter it
- Pick the Overworld coordinates. Use the X, Y, and Z values of a place where you want to land. The example uses Y=80; it is only an example, not a guarantee that every coordinate is safe or suitable.
- Open chat and enter the matching command. Include the leading slash and replace the three example numbers with your destination coordinates.
- Run the command. If it is accepted, your player moves to the chosen Overworld position. Minecraft’s commands guide explains command entry and notes that invalid commands return an error.
This sends you to a chosen coordinate; it does not find or preserve a portal-linked destination. To avoid confusion on a first attempt, use explicit coordinates rather than relative ones.

Enable command access if needed
Commands require the appropriate permissions. In Java single-player, commands can be enabled in the world options. In Bedrock single-player, open the world settings, go to the Game tab, and turn on Allow Cheats. Minecraft’s official commands guide notes that enabling cheats in a Bedrock world permanently disables achievements for that world, even if cheats are later turned off.
Why fixed coordinates are the simpler choice
Java Edition scales relative X and Z coordinates when /execute in changes dimension context: moving from the Nether to the Overworld scales those coordinates by eight. Absolute coordinates specify the destination directly, so they are easier to reason about when you want a particular Overworld location. The scaling behavior is documented in the community-maintained Java Edition 1.16.2 development versions reference.
