For your own decision, compare the total cost across the period you expect to subscribe with how often you want to be charged. The annual plan means a larger charge at a time, while the shorter options bill more frequently.

What Premium adds
Premium includes benefits such as the Classics Catalog, game trials, and cloud streaming, in addition to shared PlayStation Plus benefits. Sony notes that the game library changes over time and varies by tier, so consider whether you will use Premium-specific features rather than assuming a particular game will remain available. See Sony’s current plan and benefits listing for the live details.

If you already subscribe to another PlayStation Plus tier, the upgrade charge may be prorated using the difference between plan prices and the time remaining on your subscription. Sony’s US support page uses $159.99 as Premium’s standard annual price in an example involving Essential, but says the example prices are illustrative. Use the upgrade offer displayed in your account to determine your actual charge: PlayStation Plus subscription-change support.
