In Pokémon GO, reaching Trainer level 50 requires 12,753,000 total XP under the rebalanced leveling curve announced in 2025. That is the cumulative amount to reach level 50—not the XP needed for a single level-up.
How much XP does Pokémon GO level 50 require?
The Pokémon GO team lists 12,753,000 total XP for level 50 in its October 2025 Trainer level update announcement. The title does not name a game, so this answer is specifically about Pokémon GO; other games use different progression systems.

The announcement gives selected cumulative milestones, rather than a threshold for every individual level:
| Trainer level | Cumulative XP |
|---|---|
| 10 | 48,000 |
| 20 | 258,000 |
| 30 | 1,083,000 |
| 40 | 3,953,000 |
| 50 | 12,753,000 |
| 60 | 34,353,000 |
| 70 | 85,853,000 |
| 80 | 203,353,000 |
These are total XP thresholds, not amounts to add at each milestone. The announcement does not publish the intermediate thresholds between the listed levels.

Is level 50 still Pokémon GO’s level cap?
No. The October 2025 update raised the Trainer level cap from 50 to 80, making level 50 a milestone on the expanded progression. The Pokémon GO team said the update would apply players’ previously earned XP to a rebalanced curve and that no player would lose levels. It also said Trainers at level 23 or above would gain at least one level when the update went live.
Does XP alone determine every level-up?
Not necessarily. The announcement says Level-Up Research tasks for levels 41–50 would be removed, and that new tasks would apply to levels 71–80. That means the XP total should not be treated as the only leveling condition across the entire progression, particularly for levels 71–80.

One XP source described in the update
The announcement says Trainers from level 15 can receive a Daily Adventure Egg. It hatches after 1 km and awards 10,000 XP. That detail does not establish that the egg is the fastest way to gain XP; the announcement does not compare XP sources or provide a leveling strategy ranking.
